Question about Chemistry and Jobs
« on: September 08, 2012, 03:33:07 PM »
I looked in the Logic guide section and I noticed it was never updated with the potions from the Chemistry set. A part of the Logic supermax is discovering all 10 potions and that's not even in there? Plus the discovering of potions themselves are under the logic skill. The Sims Wiki has a potions page, even if it's not under logic, but I was thinking, not even having the potions supermax on the logic guide, even if there's another page for the potions and their logic levels needed?

Oh, and another thing I was wondering, is is there a guide or a forum topic that lists all of the jobs; professions, self-employed and rabbit holes? As well as what skills they require maybe?

I think the answers you are looking for is actually on the guide.

Carl's guide to Chemistry can be found here
There's an entire section dedicated to careers that can be found here.

In fact the only thing that you can't really find a Carl's Guide for is the new expansion and we're working on that as we speak.

Thanks Rica, is that more specific?

Yes thank you and you're welcome!  :)

Did the guides help you with your questions though?

Yep, it was exactly what I was looking for, although the Jobs guide says that any skill has a self-employed job, which some of them don't...or I just read it wrong.

Additionally, every existing skill that is viable for self employment can now be registered as such.

It's actually the skills that you can get money from. These are gardening, fishing, sculpting, inventing, painting. But I do feel that I am missing some... So once you learn the first skill level, lets say painting, you can go to the City Hall and apply to be a self-employed Painter. The problem is that NOT all skills can be self-employed (Logic for example) even if you can get some little money for it. Hope this helps.

DCI Tom Barnaby: Trust, Jones, is something hard to win, easy to lose, and never to be taken lightly.
Jones: William Shakespeare, sir?
Barnaby: No! Thomas Barnaby.

It makes you wonder why you can't make money off of handiness....
But yes, it does help, thank you.
...I wonder if Alchemy is a self-employed skill, because you can always sell the elixers....

Yes alchemy is another skill that you can become self-employed in.  Selling Elixirs at the Elixir Consignment shop is really good money.
