How do you guys solve the "A simbot!" interaction?
« on: September 07, 2012, 01:16:46 PM »
My household started as a married couple and the mans brother. Later I bought the simbot lifetime reward and buildt 2 more simbots, and thats the heart of my topic:

How do you guys solve the "A simbot!" interaction? I use alot of time trying to avoid the simbots meeting each other, and the humans. And its a bore everytime they need to go outside.

Arrrrgh!

I'm going to move this thread to the help section to see if anyone can help you.  Also I changed the name of the thread to something more than  "A Simbot!" so that other members would know what the thread was about.

In my opinion, the simbot is a seriously flawed part of the game, ditch them.  I make the simbot when the oppertunity presents then "release into the wild" never to be seen again.  The easiest way to get rid of them if in your household is to simply go to edit town and split the household, when you return to the game you will be prompted that sims remain on your clipboard and will be lost if you continue.  Continue! No more bots.

I loved the utility simbot in sims 1 and wish that we could have one similar (at a suitably inflated price of course)  think how much gardening they could get through!

I would estimate that my simbots give me a weekly income of more then 100.000 simoleons. So I got alot to lose if I ditch them.

Pyros, there are a lot of much easier ways to make money, lots of money.  For example:  I buy up metals and gems from the merchants every day that I am in a WA destination (they get new stock daily), get them smelted or cut then transfigure them into tiberium when I get home.  I can have a new sim worth over 1,000,000 within 3 sim weeks of starting this way.  No need to run around collecting, though I pick up any I see in passing or collect if I have a little time to spare and I throw all my common artifacts and meteors into the mix.  A grown tiberium can be worth anything from 29,000 to 47,000 and right now I'm growing eleven as a result of six days in France.  I financed this with buying and collecting gems to make one tiberium in my first ten sim days of play.  This is week two, so when they have grown (24 to 48 sim hours) I should have about 350,000.  once you have over a 1,000,000 you could have the home you want, the best car and own several venues and no need to worry about making money.  I suggest you get (or make) those bots a digger each, and make them dig all day for several days, that should net you a hord of gems, meteors and metal to transfigure  :D - make a miint, then ditch them.  After all, playing should be fun, if its not fun its not worth it.

It's not possible to get rid of the Simbot reaction.  It's like when Sims see a ghost and a mummy.  It just happens.  I don't put Simbots in my game anymore because of it.  Even releasing them into the wild doesn't get rid of them.  They just get a house in town and you can still run into them.  You're basically stuck if you want to keep the Simbots for making money.

I think that once someone has seen a Simbot once they won't have that action come up again for that particular Simbot. So once everyone else in the household has seen the Simbot they won't do it again. If another one comes into play it'll repeat the process all over.

Funny thing, the Simbots themselves get that action. "Oh my gosh, a Simbot!" *looks at hand* "Oh…"

The "A SimBot!" will still happen, even if they've seen the same Simbot three times the same hour, Gameactive.

(Or my sims REALLY despise simbots)

Well that was just from memory, and I don't have my computer right now to double-check. I only remember it happening once or twice, though.

It doesnt help if he is the maker, his best friend or if he seen the bot an unlimited amount of times before.

I would suggest making the reaction a part of the relationship status. It make sense reacting the first time you see a simbot. But reacting like that with a best friend just dont make sense
