Is there a way to combine lots?
« on: September 06, 2012, 11:18:08 AM »
I would like to combine the springs up by the waterfalls in Sunset Valley with a house I downloaded and enlarged. It would be sweet to have the Lake in my front yard. ;D

It would probably be an odd sized lot. I'm just wondering if this is doable? I'm wanting the lake there by the waterfalls and the lot directly in front of it.

Thanks  :)

Sadly there isn't a way to combine lots. One thing you could possibly try it to delete the Lake, leaving the Lot behind, then place the Lot you downloaded on that lot and re-create the pond. Not sure if that would work or not for you though.

If you don't require really having a fence around it, you could always just build the house on the empty lot and make the fishing hole no visitors allowed so it will seem private and you can keep the beauty of the lake and waterfall right next to your house.

Ricalynn this seems to be the way it will have to be done. The two combined lots are an odd size and not a size listed in the grids.

So for the moment my answer is no.
It does not seem doable.

Thank you both.  :)

What if you bull dozed both lots and put in the largest lot available?  I've often done that.
What?  Grannies can't play games?

You'd lose the Pond at the bottom of the waterfall. Possibly the rocks as well. Although if you don't mind rebuilding that then it's the best option for 1 lot.

Right!  Oh, this is the lot in SV with the waterfall?  I just used your option.  Bought the two places and fenced in the fishing hole as well as my house.  Only my family could access the lake.

Hey I have an idea, why not buy the res lot (move in), then buy the com lot (pond), then go to edit town and change the com lot to a res lot? Wouldn't that work?

It would still be two separate lots even though both would be residential.

But would they both remain your property?

No, I don't think it is possibleto own two residential lots.

Oh, but the idea of buying the community lot, improving and fencing it and making it no visiters allowed sounds to me to be the perfect answer.  It's a great idea which I think I will pinch.  The only problem I can see is the gaps in the fencing between the two lots, but, you might be able to diguise this by placing a few trees or some rocks in the gaps in edit town mode.

There's a house builder named Curtis who made a house on the lot. He went into edit town and changed the lot from community to residential, then just built the house on it. Then if you downloaded his lot you simply bulldozed the whole existing lot and placed the new one in the same spot. It then looks the same just with a house.
