Is that one item from debug or a LTR per challenge completed? Or one overall?

You have to make a choice as to your reward when a household member completes a skill challenge...you do not get a LTR AND a Buydebug skilling object. It's one or the other:

  • All Lifetime Happiness Rewards are locked until you finish a skill challenge.
  • When either Sim (or a designated scoring pet) has completed any skill challenge you can either a) Purchase a Lifetime Happiness Reward, or b) Purchase one skilling object using the Buydebug cheat.

-------------

EDIT: Chuckles PM'd me on the Mixology drinks which I had forgot about, so they need to be banned same as the Elixirs.

  • Any trait changing or skill boosting Mixology drink is banned. All other Mixology drinks are fine.

So I can finish skill challenge x, then buy either one LTR or skilling item from debug and then finish challenge y and buy another?

Correct. LTR and all Buydebug skilling items are locked at the beginning of your game. You unlock them when you complete one skill challenge, and you make a choice which one to get. Then they're locked again until you complete another skill challenge.

What happens if Sim x does get a skill point in something that Sim y has been working on -- does that eliminate the skill for both? Also, can you use fences, or is the build mode off limits?

Actually you would be done with the challenge if both Sims had points in the same skill because you would be breaking a rule.

Also, can you use fences, or is the build mode off limits?

That's fine. Just don't put a roof over your head is the main thing. I don't want players to eliminate the debuff from Hates the Outdoors by doing that. They'll have to find other ways of getting rid of it. ;)

can we build a small bathroom so we don't keep getting the "shoo" action?

I'm guessing that would be a no. There are plenty of other ways around that.

@lvrugger—no enclosed rooms for a bathroom.

Are there any limitations on those skilling items that can be bought without using the buydebug cheat?

No. It's just what is available in Buydebug that is restricted.

The General Challenge Rules always apply.

Um, this link is broken for me.  It says:

The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

I'm new here, but would like to participate, but can't do so if I can't read the rules.  Please help?

There is a sticky on this board that is entitled the 2012 Sims 3 Tournament General Rules that can be found here.   I've already updated the rules to include the proper link.  Sorry about that.

Thank you!

(And just for your information, the same error occurs from the Challenges page on the guide; that link should also be fixed).

I always like to place a burglar alarm and fire alarm on my lots; as these items do not seem to be banned, may I place a single segment of wall to hold them?  Or is there another solution?

Thank you!

When I asked Metro a similar question, he said it was okay to put up a wall, as long as you don't make an enclosed room with a roof.
