I believe they do.  I got a sneak peek at Leto's guide for this LTW and he wrote that getting a Simbot through the lifetime rewards completed the LTW for 3 monsters.

Robots and mummies will do, they will count as a monster. No matter how you will get them. Although, for the mummy: you need to create one yourself, with the canopic jars. You cannot turn your sim into one because that will not count. I have tested that and included it in the guide.
Ghost will not count in any way or situation. And I find that very pitiful.

Now I'm thinking of "Supernatural" and the hot monster-hunting Winchesters (and the hot and socially incompetent angel), but they don't only hunt demons there, they hunt ghosts, vampires and werewolves too (and a mass of other stuff)! If we ever get that amazing EP filled with supernatural creatures, I want to have a "Hunter" career; as in a hunter of the supernatural, not poor animals! We don't only need more monsters, we need people to hunt them down and kill them, too!   *insane glee*
*clears throat* Yeah, this LTW sounds a bit tricky for newly made sims, but for sims you've already played with for a while and gotten some collecting and gardening done with already, it shouldn't be hard. My sim Arianna would be able to make a SimBot her first day, she already has a mass of Lifefruits, gems and metals to spare. And she sure needs someone to do the chores for her and her family, as I never give the family break enough for ridiculous things such as cleaning, gardening, doing the dishes, emptying the potty, etc.   They have Masterpieces to write and paint, and lots of things to collect around town, after all. A slave SimBot would be very useful, and I can't wait until getting Ambitions!

I was thinking... the tradition is to introduce a new horrible monster ( G SB M) supernatural being in every E.P., right? Well, maybe the new creatures in future E.P.s could count to complete this LTW!

P.S. A shame it's only worth 20k LHP, now if you excuse me, I will apologize to my Ghost, SimBot, and Mummy Sims .

I'm not Leto, but I'll chime in anyway!

I've made a few ghost babies and they're kind of fun!  The only part that I don't like about them is that they make exactly the same noises as adult ghosts, which doesn't seem right to me.
