No Firefly Collector Achievment?

This skill challenge has been available since the Pets patch.  There is no actual physical collector for collecting the fireflies.  If you read it, it says you're the Champion Firefly Collector.  As in that's a title but the actual reward is being able to catch bugs and fireflies more easily the next time you try.

Rica, I believe the question is why the journal says Ganzir has collected 100% of the fireflies, but the skill challenge isn't registering as completed (it's still greyed out).

And I believe the answer to that is because it's trying to register you catching 10 unique fireflies, though there's only 9 available. I don't have a screenshot handy, but I do recall a previous version saying that you had to capture all 10 fireflies - it was basically a firefly copy of the butterfly collector.

that is not what I meant, I am NOT looking for a "hoover-like-object" to catch fireflies more easily.

The thing is, that I (to my knowledge) completed the challenge, since I collected 100% of all firefly varieties. But the Game does not recognize this, it seems, since the "Firefly Collector" (name of the challenge and description) is still greyed out, although it shouldn't

Sorry I didn't mean to offend.  When you said you weren't getting the collector-reward, I thought you meant something physical like the collection helper. Not that you weren't getting the skill challenge completed. 

I think Shirin is right about the wording.  Another member had this issue once before.  I may have one of our resident XML Guru Gods look into the challenge to see what it says if I don't do it myself here in a little bit.    But the challenge not being completed has been an issue since Pets so it's not new and unfortunately I don't think I've ever seen a solution to it being fixed.

Since it may be a bug, that never received fixing... is there a possibility to edit my savegame, so I can set the "Firefly-Collector-Challenge-Completed-Variable" to "true"?

Not to my knowledge.


I'm looking in the code right now to try to find the cause of this.
