A serious error has occurred while loading...

Hi, so I have my family of sims that I have had for a while, and I finally just got my sim to level 7 of piano. Her last name is Tanaka. I go off for a couple hours, then I come back on and all of a sudden it says.. "A serious error has occurred while loading Tanaka.sims3. it is strongly recommended that you restart the application." I got so upset cause I got so far. My 2 sims were engaged, and so much more. I really do not want to reinstall, so please don't say this, because I have seen those solutions don't work. There must be one solution out there that will work for me! Please anyone help me with this situation. If you need to know anything then I'm happy to tell you any details about my game. Thanks!

I've gotten this error message a few times. What I usually do is a couple of things. First, quit out of the game.

 Delete the cache files (CompositorCache, ScriptCache,SimCompositor,and CASPartCashe.) As well as Delete almost all of the DCBackup folder - Except: ccmerged.package -- Some store content may quit working if you delete this file.

Try running the game again. If you get the same Serious Error message, then hopefully you've got a backup of your game save and can work from that.

Thanks, but it didn't work. I Ended up deleting it with no choice, but I still had my family saved to my library, but not as far as before. I started a new game with them, but the same thing happened!! Please anyone help me.

Have you tried a game with different Sims?  If the problem keeps happening with these particular Sims but not in other games or households, it may be that you have a bugged Sim.  I've had that happen, and the only thing I could think of was to delete the Sim and start over with a new one.

Also - make sure you have deleted all your cache files and everything but the ccmerged.package file from the DCBackup folder.  Restart the game and try again with that file.  Sometimes I get the message than I'm able to load it up without a problem.

When was the last time you restarted your computer?  Not just the game but the whole computer can sometimes help too.
