Well, I've played some more, and it seems putting the metals on the ground first only sometimes keeps the queue from getting cancelled. :( Now to see if I can find out why. Oh well, gives me an excuse to play. :P As if I needed one.

Alex, I hear you on that one.  No reason required.  ;D  At this point I've decided the problems are with the patch and they don't stop the game play.  The gardens turn into the proper plants eventually and act normally, (I have to say I've never heard of the word mycelium and have no idea what is means if anything), the ores get smelted & the journal page is now there.  Life goes on in both worlds.  Hopefully there will be a new patch soon to fix this one.

Here's a new one: when I try to sell cut gems out of my sim's inventory, I get the money, and the gem reappears on the ground nearby. This was...interesting...when it happened with a spire-cut tiberium I'd let grow.

When I sell my sim's bicycle in his inventory, It re appear on the ground and then disappear.  I will have a look if it is still in his inventory.

And,  if you are quick, you can pick up the item before it vanishes and sell the item twice!

I have just discovered that the speakers are not working now in WA, so back to a stereo in each room.  I don't know if it is the same in the home town, sorry, I am in China for a while yet and didn't notice if they were working or not in my base home.

I tried another garden in China, since starting a new game, planted from seeds.  The garden was fine while growing, but as soon as produce appeared the breaks returned.

Wai, that selling the gems twice quickly is what I've been doing.  I discovered that a while ago.  Good to know we get something good out of the mishaps.

I have found that the money bug for selling from the inventory works with achievement certificates as well.  I paused my game and sold stuff from her inventory including the certificate and then hit Page Down to go to her basement to add a task to my Sim's actions and when I paged back up, the certificate was just hanging in the air in front of her.  I resold it (§1,000) and decided to page down and up again to see if it would still be there.. and it was!  It works for anything in the inventory from seeds to gems to paintings, books, harvetables (including money bags from the money tree) and even fish.  So long as my Sim was within the confines of the house.  I could have resold that achievement certificate umpteen times but I figured 3 times already was heaps... anymore was just cheating.

However, I only found out about the other stuff because I discovered they were clumped together on the floor and created pathing issues.  Interestingly enough all fish looks exactly the same when it's on the floor.  Lobsters, minnows, death fish and even jelly fish are identical on the floor.  And it must have been there for days and was just as fresh as when it was caught!  So not like real life.

Reminder to self not to have an busy carpet pattern while this bug is in place. ::)

As Magz hinted, if you pause the game when selling from inventory, there's no need to go quickly.  Also, I've had success selling from my dog's inventory even when the dog wasn't at home, as long as I had the camera focused on the house.  The item still popped to the ground somewhere nearby and I could sell it twice.  It definitely goes a long way to achieving those big "I want 500k simoleons!" wishes.   ;D

I'm having very strange bugs in my legacy, all over the place. Every time I load up one particular save, it's one of the following: The everything-freezes-but-plumbobs freeze.. I wait ten minutes and it unfreezes itself but that usually results in the next thing which is - Two of my sims, it's always two and it's always a different two, completely disappear from the portrait thing, though they are still in the house and walking around. ResetSim does nothing. I had to resort to a previous save which is the save just before I patched.. Just got to hope it doesn't happen again. :-\

Fez, the same thing keeps happening in my legacy. All you need to do to stop the disappearing portraits is go back to main menu and come back in.

I did that eight times and no change, it'd either just freeze up or freeze for a few minutes then do the portrait thing again so that's why I just resorted to the save before. :-\ I usually do "save as" when saving, and then alternate between Dreamer and Dreamer 2, so I just went to the other one and it was fine.. If it happens again, I'm going for a factory reset, then resorting to my backup on a USB I have in my drawer and if all else fails, complete reinstall.

This may seem weird, but: when that happened to me the cure was to Not Panic. If the sims are still walking around the house invisible, let them walk around the house invisible. If you have any control over them at all, set them to doing something they'll keep doing - watching TV, playing video games, playing foosball, etc. Send them to bed at a normal time. The next morning, start resetting them, and they may come back and stay back.

Are they still in the family portrait on the main menu?  If they are, go into Edit Town. Split them from the house so that they go to the clipboard then re-merge them with the rest of the family.

Thanks, guys!

I couldn't control them at all, they didn't appear at the side at all but they were walking around in their formals.. My sims that were there could interact with them but I couldn't control them - Also, if I went to their picture in the relationship panel, I couldn't "chat", "invite over" etc so the game regarded them as a part of my household, just the portrait didn't appear.

Are they still in the family portrait on the main menu?  If they are, go into Edit Town. Split them from the house so that they go to the clipboard then re-merge them with the rest of the family.

They were in the family portrait. It was always a different combination of two of my sims but it seemed completely random.. I'll definitely try that if it happens again, thank you! I just assumed it was due to patching up, it was probably something not specific to this patch but just one of them bugs that occur every so often with patching up in general  - Like the fridge bug and opportunities glitching out.

Fez, I had something similar and found that it was the Sims who were not in the house lot at the time of my exiting the game who disappeared.  I put them in the shower when they came home and they reappeared.  This may work for you too.

But then again, I've been having all sorts of trouble with them not changing into their normal work outfits so that might only work for those disappearing issues.  I just make sure all my Sims are on the home lot before I exit the game each night and the new games seem to be okay now.  I'm not going to try another dynasty until I've got Supernatural.  By then I'm hoping some of these glitches will have been fixed.
