I'm kind of worrying about this now.  I'm always kind of nervous about downloading patches, and seeing some of the potentially game-breaking stuff is making me want to put it off.

On a side note, I'm loving the sliders.  I don't really play with colored skin much, but I love the rainbow and black and white ones.  And, finally, the ears!

So here's a screenshot I took of what it says when you hover over the option to check off for current household.

Just to help with questions:

Turning it off for current household will not remove stars/points.

I have to say, I'm so glad EA gave the different skins and sliders to the base game! I'm just fiddling with CAS, until I have both updated mods and SN! I remember in Sims 2, I took hours to find multi colored skins, without all those realistic faces, (I want my Sims to still look like Sims you know!), and now EA has made my dream come true!

So for that, thank you EA!

Two new screenshots for the skin sliders..

This guy here needs no introduction or does he?  This is what the Grim Reaper looks like in his formalwear.

This is a Sim whose skin color has been changed to the new white/black skin slider.

So close yet so different.

Even though unchecking the Population Control Setting for celebrities doesn't remove the stars, there is a new cheat that does, shift click the Sim in question and it's celebrity level can be changed. You must have testingCheatsEnabled true on for it to work, but at least there is a way. Pleased to finally be able to Edit-In CAS vampires, waited on that for a long time.

I patched up early this morning (Oz time) it took an hour or so to download.  My household were all reset and doing nothing at all.  Xander Clavell my Sim's hubby was in the library reading and now the book is in his inventory and I can't get him to put it away in the bookcase; it just goies back into his inventory.  Oh well... I just acquired an expensive book.

Gardening has become a mega issue for me.  All my Sim teens take turns gardening to build the skill.  But now I have to micromange gardening.  No longer will 'Tend Garden' work to tend the entire garden.  The Sim will harvest one plant and stand bolt upright and lose the command.  Click back on the plant and repeat 'Tend Garden' to weed the plant.  Sims weeds the plant and then stands bolt upright again.  I have to click on just about all of the plants individually to harvest, weed and fertilise.  If I didn't have auto sprinklers, I probably have to do the same for watering.  So not impressed with this new problem.

Also the Plant section in the new Collection Journal is completely blank except for the headings and some of my Sim family have the fishing page replicated onto the plants page.

Also random NPC's show up in my house.  While my teens were doing their homework in the library, some NPC teen (not a townie) was busy teaching hemself potions on the Chemistry Lab.  The next day with the family at school or work, another NPC appeared playing chess in my skill room when they returned home.  That night another NPC appeared star gazing.  That next morning yet another NPC just appeared and helped themselves to the leftovers in the fridge.  All these NPC's now appear as acquaintances in their friends tab.  Wow, I thought, I'm going to max my NPC's for this generation but the NPC's won't come over so my sims can befreind them.

By the way:  I did have the gates 'locked to everybody but my household' but I had to unlock and relock them to stop this parade of strangers through my house.

Also my townies are dying off at an unprecedented rate - some to old age when they're not really very old but most of the others to fire or drowning.  I expected Buster Clavell to go because he was already an elder, but Simis Bachelor died the same night and he had only recently become an elder.

Maybe I just need to start a new game. ::)

I'm just about to load my game.  I do hope that I don't have any problems as I have just started a dynasty and I am almost at my first immortal.  I guess I just got over excited at the change in skin tones and elf ears.  I will report back!

Sorry to hear about your issues Magz!

Could someone who has patched and also uses CAW and S3PE please send me a copy of the information in these resources? I know it's a big ask, but I want to keep working on my world, and if I update, I won't be able to use CAW. I'd like to know how the update effects the spawners in particular, but the other ones also effect lot placement and how I'll build them. The most important are the seed spawners.

I am having lots and lots of pathing issues! Not the end of the world, but it's almost impossible to get them to work or school on time because they stay there, stuck with... air. Weird.

If anyone knows anything about updating CAW I would appreciate any info! I totally forgot that it stopped working after patches and I updated the game, and now I obviously can't work on my world. Where does EA upload the updates? Or do they just replace the file in the Tools section? because I had a look there and there's no info about updated versions. I already re-downloaded and still doesn't work, so probably they haven't done it yet... but how do I know when they do it so that I don't have to keep re-downloading the tool "just in case"?  ::)

Also, the new "remove stars from celebrities" cheat is the best thing ever! Seriously... thank you EA! Even if CAW doesn't work, my sim-life is complete now  ;D

You have to give it a day or two and then uninstall CAW (back-up your custom textures and saved worlds in another folder on your desktop or something) then just redownload the CAW program from the website.

OK, thanks  :) I was just hoping that EA would upload some "news" somewhere about it so I don't have to keep downloading it just to see if they already updated it.

I just emptied Sunlit Tides of families and had a Sim going around and joining various careers, all the new sims that spawned had the normal skintones. So it looks like we won't get townies appearing with them.  :-\

Edit: Well I guess they're homeless NPC's but I think it will still not work on townies.

Edit 2: I've turned off like everything but there are still Paparazzi in my game but they have nothing to do, just wandering the roads and community lots, Lol.

I bet that this is the Supernatural Patch. I'm seeing that werewolves's Adult Life Span is 1.5 times longer than a human's, and a Fairies is (brace yourself!!) 5 times longer!

I wonder why they released it so early then? I thought it normally came out on the US release date?
