Patch 1.38

Did anyone get prompted to a new update today? I saw a new patch available earlier today but I have automatic updates disabled, so I just thought I would update later... and now it's gone!

Oh yeah, I already downloaded it. It's one of the biggest updates, adding new content, etc. I think it's in preparation for Supernatural, maybe?

It should be, but my launcher is now saying there are no new updates. I didn't install it earlier so I'm guessing my launcher gut bugged again.

Oh well, I will have to update manually tomorrow I guess

I refreshed my Launcher and it didn't show up then 5 minutes later I got the pop-up for a new update, if I hadn't got distracted by the forum I wouldn't have seen the update notification.

To install this update, please start your game and use the “Updates” tab in your Launcher.

This game update includes the following changes:

Base Game

    New decorative drainpipes, roof cornices, wall patterns, a bookcase, and neighborhood rock objects.
    New Create a Sim controls for ears, nostrils, jaw, and skin color.
    Updated collection journal to track collectables.
    Online Feature Updates:

        Send or receive a surprise gift box to/from your friends! It could contain anything from a chunk of Simoleons to a painting, or even a car!
        Receive an Elixir from Supernatural players containing magical properties that will affect your Sim’s lives!


Late Night

    New moodlets and socials for Vampires.

It seems like they've also added the jaw and nose edits and new skin tones for CAS. Honestly, this update has made me ever more impatient for the Supernatural EP to come out.

Awww I was kind of expecting the patch to include the new control options for occults, but I guess I was too optimistic. Still, I'm going to patch tomorrow... I'm totally curious about elf ears and such!

I don't think this is even the Supernatural Patch. It could be that the patch would be too big so they had to split it into two.

It does include control options for occults, it's just that the options for the others besides vampire are greyed out since Supernatural hasn't been released and installed yet.

Oh yeah! How odd they didn't add it to the patch notes! 

I just looked and here is a screenshot of the options - also note the Sim in the background with Elf Ears!

I was going to wait until tomorrow to download it but I couldn't wait  I've been expecting EA to do this since forever!

LOL, I installed it and obviously CAW doesn't work anymore. I totally forgot about that.

Also, I've been browsing a bit and there are some... interesting issues being reported out there. I read one post about the patch breaking the gardening skill and even some people not being able to load the game anymore so make sure to back up!!
