I do love the new CAS stuff though. I absolutely love the orange slider (which may not be new, I don't know) and the pleasant but rich gold color in the middle. Definitely using that.

It is new.  :)

I've tried patching my game using the updater in the launcher.  Since it takes so long to download, I always leave the room, so I'm not sure if it gives a message when it's done, which goes away before I come back.  However, when I check it again, it says that my game still needs to be updated, and it looks like the patch hasn't installed.  I have Supernatural, and must install this patch before I can install the expansion.  Has anyone had any similar problems, and how have they been resolved?

Does the download complete successfully and then you can't install it, or is it the downloading being interrupted before it finishes? If you do get to download the patch successfully and then you don't get prompted to install it, then you should be able to find the downloaded file in your Downloads folder, double click on it and install it manually. If you don't get to actually download it you might want to make sure Origin is updated. I'm not sure if an outdated version of Origin would cause trouble, but I'm guessing it would.

I had a similar issue and needed to use the super patcher that SimsVIP linked just to make it work.   Also double check Origin but I think the super patch will help.

Thanks for the reply.  My Origin version is current.  I'm not sure if the download was being interrupted, since I never saw a message indicating so upon returning to my computer.  I managed to update my game using a Super Patch that I found at the website on the official forum.  I see it in my downloads folder now, but I'm not sure whether it was there before I tried this method.

Edit:  You posted while I was posting, Ricalynn.  That's why it sounds like I didn't read your post.  Glad it worked for you, too.

I don't know if anyone else has already said this but there's a new section in 'testingcheatsenabled true' when you right-click your Sim called 'Celebrity'. With this you can set your Sim's celebrity level or add more Celebrity points.

I can't test this to be sure it works, but one method that may work for those with the gardening bug is simply to go into buy/build mode, and just move the plants around.

I say this because I also had the bug, and when I got rid of everything but money trees, and spread the money trees out, it seems like my gardener had 0 issues afterwards.

I actually only have the issue with my gardener Sim.  The same garden that was getting stuck worked for the Sim that learned the gardening skill after the patch.

From what I was reading on the forums, it has to do with the new collections journal showing blank in the plants tab and it seems to be for pre-patch sims. I haven't tested this myself yet, but at the moment the only way they've found to fix it is with one of Twallan's mods.

The gardening bug is odd. I had a pre-patch genie who had absolutely no issued tending the garden, but now I moved her our so I had another pre-patch sim take care of the plants and she does have the bug.

Yeah, but careful with that. That causes a bug where your sims will get the "dirty surroundings" moodlet out of nowhere. The dirty dishes kind of stay there floating in the air or something. I'm experiencing it now because I always cleaned up for my sims LOL. It's not a patch.related bug though, aparently it's always been like that.

Yeah I did figure the open fridge bit out - it suddenly occurred to me to check - though I moved them to the bench and just had a sim clean them rather than moving them straight to rubbish. Which also gave me the opportunity to check that while the group dishes were still normal quality (and when I left some there overnight never went off), if you grabbed a new plate that would instantly turn horrible, which was kind of funny. That way I did have to deal with the one hour wasting food moodlet but I didn't have any trouble with a dirty surroundings moodlet, and an hour isn't very long.

I have re-planted everything in my gardens as I go to each house.  This seems to have solved the gardening problem, except that you have to wait for them to grow again.  My sims all keep produce in their backpacks so they are never without food or go hungry.
Also, in the collectible journal, which I am very happy to see, my plant page was the same as the fish page, but two days later, it has changed and it seems to be fine.  My collectibles are all accounted for.

I've posted a couple problems (a couple days ago) in the Sims 3 Technical Help board, "Script errors since patch update yesterday" for which I'm still looking for help.  It's a "character re-setting - script error" problem.  If anyone gets a chance, please me know via that thread.  I'm going to try re-setting the world as I've read several people have done.  See it that helps.  Thanks for that suggestion.

I was really pleased to see that I can turn off vampires and celebrities.  Thanks EA so much for that.  I hope that when 'Weather' comes out the option to turn off aliens will also be there.  Otherwise I'll not be getting it.  I have no interest in Supernatural, so I hope this patch will be fixed and not affect my game.

Replanting doesn't seem to work for me. I planted about twenty plants ( 9 of them special seeds) and all came up Mycelium.

For some reason as well, the patch seems to want Genies to live forever as Young Adults. It keeps resetting the age at about halfway to Adult.

Moving this to the General Discussion board as it's not specific to Supernatural.

Also all my sims (except the evil ones) have been getting the "it's dark" moodlet because the lights are out in every single one of my games. It's not a big deal; I just have to manually click auto lights for every house. Just thought I'd mention it, though.
