Tattoos bugged, or working as intended?
« on: June 10, 2010, 11:52:43 AM »
I noticed yesterday that my sim, who had gotten a tattoo at the salon, was 4 days younger than he should have been.  I sent him to get another one, and sure enough, 4 more days had been deducted from his age.  This is probably a bug, but follow my thought: maybe getting a tattoo makes a sim feel younger, and therefore reduces his age.  Maybe it explains the age-defying members of Motley Crue...

That's so odd!  I'll have to pay more attention next time I get one.

You are right, it seems to only work with the ink-in-comfort chair and not the high-tech one so it is probably a bug and not something intended.

Nope, not 4 days, my sim's GF just lost 19 days after a tattoo.  Seems it's resetting ages, now it's a bug.

:'( Decided to try this as my sim was going to turn into an elder in 1 sim week. Thought I would get 4 days more but instead I got 11 days. It might have been that I got 2 tatoos instead of 1.

My sim went from two days till age up to seventeen. I didn't have any lifefruit so thought I'd test this bug.  :D

I know it's an old topic, but, I have a question related to it.
My Sim went to have a tattoo on a day that was her adult birthday, her lifespan reset and I sent her to sleep happy to keep her YA. But she woke up and grow into an adult even if her lifespan was reset and she was at the beginning of YA stage! Now, has anyone else had something like this, or is this bug partially fixed, or am I just not that lucky?

I've had a similar bug, but with life fruit, not a tattoo.  I gave a sim life fruit on the day she was supposed to age up, and she ended up aging up anyway.  Since then I've been careful about making my sims younger before they get close to the line, so I don't know if it is an occasional bug or a constant problem.  But I don't think it's a tattoo-specific problem.

This happened to me, too.  I think that once you reach you Sim's birthday, he will age up no matter what you do to prevent it.  Get the tattoo before the birthday.

Yes, if you go after you get the birthday message, the birthday is fixed and nothing will change it.  Female sims will not get pregnant on the day of their elder birthday, either, no matter how many times she tries for a baby.
