Oh well.  The challenges look like a lot of fun, but with EA's quality control being what it is, without those mods to correct the gameplay errors, it's an extremely frustrating play experience.

I just started a practice run at this and encountered a money bug.

It's the middle of the night and she suddenly got 950 simoleons for no reason whatsoever, I've seen it mentioned before about this random bug that gives you money for nothing, question is if this happens should we use the family funds cheat and remove it?

That would be appreciated if you could do that in this situation where it could make the difference between a winner and a runnerup...in the Dynasties I really don't care.

Well, if we're talking about a monetary reward then that would mess up the 2 ways you can earn money rule.

Is anybody else running into a problem where, when you turn the celebrity invasion back on, the celebrities don't seem to want to come back?  I've started three practice games so far, and haven't found a single celebrity yet.

This is a crazy persnickety question, but can the sim put something in personal inventory to use as gifts?  That is, as long as it's gotten rid of in a way that doesn't create revenue before the LTW is completed, can we still pick apples off the trees to eat, or paint to give as gifts, things like that?

Wow! Glad that was asked I have been doing that in my practice game and didn't even think anything of it! I don't have trouble finding celebrities but I have noticed that the opportunities don't come nearly as much as they used too! I went a whole sim week without any and I was a level 3 celebrity! I remember when Late Night first came out as soon as I gained a star I got the opportunities non-stop. Anyone else seeing this as well?

I hate to be a pain, but in my tests, items in personal inventory are having no effect on the net worth calculation.  In my practice game, I have the wish to be worth more than $25,000, which shows my sim's total net worth ($15,419).  I can catch fireflies, make elixirs, pick up gems, cut gems, none of it affects my net worth.  If I sold the items or donated the fireflies, that would show up, but holding them doesn't.  When I buy an item, the cost of the item is subtracted from my worth, but the value of the item in my inventory isn't added back in...

Which I guess answers my own question? As long as it doesn't affect the bottom line, it's fair game?

A tip for those having trouble getting celebrities to come back: do a factory reset. I had the same problem with story progression after I turned it off for a challenge - sims stopped moving in and out of town all together, even after I turned it back on. A factory reset fixed the problem.
