This one looks interesting I think I shall give this a go when it starts.

The general rules say high free will so if our sim autonomously chooses to flirt should we cancel that? or does it just apply to user directed socials? just want to know if it's okay if they chose to flirt so long as we didn't push them into flirting or if we should police thier autonomous socials as well.

Sure, I am only talking about the actions you direct a Sim to do.

Yeah....while trying this, can we still have a sim play with skills and up them to have those opportunities as well, even if we don't use the skills to make things to sell? Like, working on guitar, cooking, etc. Maybe not stuff like sculpting or painting, but others?

You can do whatever skills you want, but you can't complete any other opportunities than celebrity opportunities if the payoff is in simoleans. If the payoff is simply a skill boost, or a relationship boost, fine. So make sure to check the reward carefully.

Okay, forget my last post. I just added the following rule (thank you Chuckles for PMing me and pointing out a potential exploit):

  • No skill is banned but you may not use a skill to increase your Net Worth (i.e. paintings, photos, sculptures, etc).

...Is the net worth the keeping or selling of items?

That should be either - if you sell them you get the simoleons and if you keep them you increase the property value.

So if your sim skills in paintings, just keep them in the sim's inventory, or the household inventory as long as you don't sell them in the end?

I might be missing something but isn't one of the main things about this years challenge tourney the fact that anything goes. Surely using a skill to an advantage like this is just part of the game strategy and not really an exploit. That's like saying you can't be a klepto because you might steal a car to add to the net worth. Just for the record I wasn't planning on doing this but I am wondering if what I have got planned is allowed.

You are missing something — I want players to take a decent amount of time at this one Rachel, and to make money via being a Celebrity and doing Celebrity Opportunities—not dropping down into a subway for 6 hours and getting the 100k via tips. ;) You're a celebrity and you should make money in that fashion. With other events I really do not care how the money comes about.

So basically the rule is exactly what it is was before the only way to make money is by completing celeb opps.
It just confused the issue for me that something was pointed out to be banned that we had already been told that we couldn't do. Can I assume that stealing is not allowed either  ;)

Metro,

For your information, I often had problems with this LTW even though I was playing a single sim in the household. I often had the problem when selling something from the family inventory which had a very high value. I suspect if your net value goes from under 100K to over 150K with one sale, the ceiling you need for the LTW gets raised

Ack. Well I hope that does not happen. I guess Rica and I will just look at things on a case by case basis if players are reporting bugs when they finish. Make sure to note your finish times when you feel the LTW should have been completed.

Are Error Trap and Overwatch mods allowed?

Also, was there a definite decision on whether freebies could be sold during play or if they have to wait for the end?

No mods at all are allowed during the challenges. I don't know about the other point, that's Metro and Rica's call.

I edited that a few days ago. Take a look and it says that you can sell the freebies throughout the challenge.
