To all case managers and friends of the Treatment Centre (that means, anyone who has been following the story):

In a week or so our first group of referrals should all have achieved their treatment goals, which means our pilot project will be completed.  It is time to evaluate the success of the project and to decide whether or not the project should continue.  We invite your input into this decision.  1.  Should the Treatment Centre continue?  2.  Are there any changes you would like to see?  3.  We have had requests to admit teenagers into the program.  One possibility would be to have an admission of only teenagers, possibly the next group.  Would you like to see a special admission for teenagers only?  What about any other special groups?  4.  Any other comments or suggestions would be welcome.

Thank you for your interest.

- The Management
1.Yes! I think it should continue.
2.No, not any i can think of.
3.I think teenagers could come into the program, maybe with just more realistic goals that may center around school.

I agree about the goals for teenagers.  They really won't have much time during the week.  Another thing I'm thinking of if we do bring in teenagers is that it's not realistic to expect them to look after the garden and do the other chores.  Sstarr can't do it all alone, especially as she's still working at the Science Centre, so we'd probably look at bringing in another staff member and having a smaller admission if we do a teen group.  Coincidentally, I happen to know a Sim-in-training who might be interested in joining the staff.  ;)

Schip, I must apologize for not sending you anything for Trisha recently. Camille has been on vacation in Starlight Shores (translation: I have been sitting final exams for both performance art and programming, and I have the new moderation duties here). Camille will return tomorrow and she'll send you her mom's latest letters and her opinion on treatment progress then.

Yes.

None that I can think of. I'll tell you if I do though.

As an experiment, I would allow a few teenagers into the next group and observe their progress. I would also suggest a group of Neurotic and Insane (all Sims have both traits) Sims.

4.  Any other comments or suggestions would be welcome.
Perhaps there should be some form of extra entertainment -- a few more parties, etc.

1. Oh my god, yes please continue!

2. Maybe some of the townies can become more involved, or come teach classes?

3. I like the teenage idea. If you should admit teens I would feel more comfortable with at least 1 (preferably 2) more adults there to supervise.

4. It would be nice to see them have organised field trips i.e. a day at the beach or similarly.

1. Yes, very much yes! This should continue.  ;D

2. i can't really think of anything, but I'l tell you if I do.

3. I think teenagers should to be able to come, as long as they realize that their time is limited and plan their goals accordingly.

4. Are we going to be seeing a visit from our esteemed benefactor in grey? ;)

I like these ideas.  This fits with my own feeling that I've been working the Sims rather hard - nose to the grindstone, trying to crank out those treatment goals.  It's not anyone's fault but my own - I do tend to be task-oriented - but focusing so much on the treatment goals hasn't left much free time, and the recreational facilities in the Treatment Centre and the town have hardly been used.  So I'm going to start giving them more free time, even if it means slower progress on the treatment goals.  More fun, less work for the Sims and I hope, for me, because micro-managing a household of 7 insane Sims plus a dog is hard work!

I haven't decided for sure yet, but am thinking our next intake might be a group of all teenagers.  And I do want to bring in another staff member to help.

4. Are we going to be seeing a visit from our esteemed benefactor in grey? ;)

Oh, I expect he'll turn up at some point.  I have no immediate plans to bring him in, but you know Mr Payne - he's pretty hands-on about his projects.  He likes to keep an eye on things!  ;)

Insane Neurotics, I like that idea too.  I had an idea for a group of elderly dementia patients - Insane + Absent-Minded.  Not sure I'm brave enough to tackle a group like that!  We could also do a one-week retreat type thing where Sims in need of a break could come and relax, just do fun and relaxing things, maybe learn to meditate.  I think that would be fun to do and we wouldn't have to limit it to just Insane Sims.  What do you think of these ideas?

A one week retreat could work for many different type of sims. How about workaholics who need to learn to relax? It would also give you, Starr and Incubus some variation in game play.

I like that idea, saltpastillen!  Maybe we could do different types of retreats for different groups of Sims.

I've been following this for a while; it's fascinating! HAHA!

1. If you have been enjoying yourself, then yes the treatment center should continue!

2. I'd like to see the patients have a bit more free time. It seems that all they did was work work work, and while I understand that they were working toward goals, you don't want your patients to get burned out too quickly! Plus, they seem to do some pretty hilarious things when left on their own!

3. Perhaps a couples counseling thing? It would mean less users getting their sims in, but a week where you attempt to "relight the fire" in a couple of relationships would be super interesting. :3

Keep up the good work!

Thanks, marwolfer.  I love the couples counselling idea!  I think we'll definitely have to try that.

Vignettes

There is something a little strange about the Treatment Centre, and I'm not talking about the residents.  For some reason, I am unable to click on the front door to set it as a front door or to lock it.  I don't know if this has to do with the castle pieces I used to create the entrance or if it's just a glitch.  I did try replacing the door but to no avail.  And whenever I tell one of the residents to "go home" they always walk up to the second floor.

So one evening while everyone was having dinner I noticed this:

Vita Alto, who was unknown to anyone in the house, had come in and was going upstairs.  You can't see it in this picture, but she was also complaining about being very tired.  The Altos had to move out when their lot was commandeered for the Treatment Centre, so maybe sleepy Vita had forgotten where she now lives, or perhaps she just wanted to see what had taken the place of her mansion.  Sstarr managed to befriend Vita before sending her home.

Now, Incubus is the only inhabitant of the Treatment Centre who is not insane.  I don't think dogs have an Insane trait.  Sim dogs, that is.  As for my Schipperkes,  I wouldn't care to bet on it.  Well, not with Grace here on my lap watching everything I type.  But when I saw this, I wondered if some of the insanity was rubbing off on poor Incubus:

Eating backwards?  Riiight.  Emily, what did you put in that batch of gourmet dog food, anyway?

Speaking of Emily, the townies are benefiting from her ever-increasing cooking skills.  Tofu dogs for all in Central Park:

Three gardeners:

Mostly Grady is a pretty good maid.  But I think he was having a bad day here.  Or maybe he really needed his ice cream fix.  He just kept eating ice cream after ice cream, while the dirty dishes went unnoticed and the beds were unmade.

Late one night, while everyone else was asleep, Callum snuck out of the Treatment Centre.  Not quite awake, he drove right through the ice cream truck:

So where was Callum going in such a hurry?  Where else would a fisherman go in the middle of the night:

His first deathfish!  Callum was very happy.  So happy, in fact, that he decided to stay around and tell ghost stories to the ghosts:

That must have been a very scary ghost story Callum was telling - it's got all the ghosts taking off just as fast as they can float.  Not one of them stayed around to hear the end of the story.  Maybe work on that charisma skill a little more, Callum.

Good job, Callum! It takes a lot to catch a deathfish, not to mention scaring ghosts with a ghost story!  ;D
