Emily: Ambrosia, tasty chow, Nasi Goreng, Teriyaki, Essence of Vanilla, Deathfish, Vampire Fish, Robot Fish, Can-O-Worms, Maple Syrup, Golden Syrup, Chocolate Syrup, Cough Syrup, Egg, Okra, Jelly / Jell-o, Rice, Coconut, Fries, Banana, Apple, Orange, Turkey, Peas, Bagels, Mushrooms, Pink Diamond, Ice Cream, Chicken, Pickles, Chili, Anchovies, Lemonade, Kool Aid, Coffee, BBQ Ribs, Tofu, Spaghetti, Eclair, Pork, Lamb, Beef, Horse, Powdered Unicorn Horn, Grapes, Tomatoes, Nectar, Waffles, Soup, Pizza, Gnocchi, Ham, Spam, Parmesan, Parma-Spam, Ribena, Corn, Honey, and Rat Poison.

Me: Wow, I had to go Googling to get some of these foods.

Me:  So that's what's in gourmet dog food?!  ... looks like my dogs will have to make do with the plain old standard fare.  I don't even know what some of those ingredients are!     :o  Emily is obviously a highly creative cook.

Friends

Is there anything more precious in life than a friend?  Someone who likes you as you are, who cares how you feel, someone to share your good times and bad.  I think most of us would agree on the importance of friends.  And yet, for the Insane Sims who come to the Treatment Centre, making friends is not always easy.  When your main topic of conversation is to speak madness or rant about conspiracies, it's no wonder "normal" Sims don't want to be bothered.  Let's hear what some of our residents have to say about friends:

Trisha:  Sstarr signed us all up for a Charisma class. She says it will help us make real friends. Real friends? Me? I don't need real friends! I have my family and my teddy bears!*

Coleen:  Katie wants me to make friends, but I'm not a good sculptor, so I don't know how that's going to work. But maybe she meant meet friends, that would have made more sense. But people, for some odd reason, just don't like me.**

Frank:  I'm looking forward to meeting the others, though! I don't really get to meet a lot of new people since that fundraiser. (Tell Mary I'm really sorry about that!) But you said they'd be like me. Different like me. I like the sound of that!***

As for Callum, could his obsessive love for a dead catfish named Sally possibly stem from his difficulty making real friends?  His case manager did say that one of Callum's goals should be to "make a friend who is actually living."****

Then there is Emily, who in her letters home enquires about the well-being of her teddy bear, possibly because she has no other friends:  "How is Teddy VonRamdenburger doing? I expect he's been lying about again, you must tell that Teddy Bear he needs some exercise. All the Grilled Salmon isn't good for his weight."*****

As for Charissa, we have no specific information on issues to do with friends.  But her letter clearly indicates significant social issues:  "Also, I'm clumsy, and I don't like children. Maybe you can help me change? Because everyone says I would make beautiful babies."******

So our residents, with their history of failure when it comes to relationships, came to treatment.  They were sent to Charisma class and required to socialize.  Let's see how they've been doing.

Of all people to run into at the fishing hole, Gunther Goth in his suit and hat has to be one of the least likely.  He stands watching Frank fish:

Frank finds Gunther quite easy to befriend.  All he has to do is enthuse about business and compliment Gunther on his workaholism, and soon they're chums.  Gunther gushes excitedly when Frank presents him with a gift-wrapped appleseed:

Charissa also met someone at the fishing hole - Mr Desirable, himself.

I don't remember if she actually managed to make friends with Chris or not.  From the look on his face here, I think he was disappointed when he learned that she wasn't a Dynasty girl.

Coleen and Frank exchange a friendly hug:

Trisha knows just what will help her make friends with Incubus:

Trisha and Frank tried to socialize but they kept invading each other's space.  Uh, guys, I know I said I wanted you to get close, but not that close!

Callum and Coleen dancing:

Emily and Coleen socializing over the chess board:

And Sstarr has a friend too:

I'm glad Callum has a friend. But dancing in a pirate suit could be a bit hard.

Has Frank been working out? He looks a bit more muscular than I remember. Not bad, Frank.  ;D

Here's a picture from just after his arrival to compare:

He sure looks more muscular to me.  Do Sims get muscles from jogging?  Or maybe it's from all the work he's been doing repairing broken showers!

Friday at last!

The residents at the Treatment Centre have been working very hard on their treatment goals.  So when Sstarr gets home from work early Friday afternoon, they all decide to get an early start on the weekend.

Coleen and Incubus fulfill wishes by going for a walk.

Charissa and Sstarr play dominoes while Trisha and Frank play pool.  Frank demonstrates his trick shot, facing away from the pool table - look, no pool cue!

Guess who won the wall-climbing contest?  Yeah, it was Coleen.  Wonder if it was because of her superior athletic skill or just because Trisha was handicapped by trying to climb in high heels and floor-length gown.

Nothing like a little hydrotherapy to help a Sim relax at the end of a hard week.  Grady the ice-cream addicted maid makes up for his occasional shortcomings by giving Frank a hot stone massage.

The massage table gets a lot of use this afternoon.  Do you recognize the Sim Coleen is working on?  Who is that in the bunny suit?

It's Emily!  And I think this explains her case manager's cryptic comment:
By the way, I hope you enjoy her sleepwear. ;)
She's been here almost 2 weeks, and I've never seen this outfit before.  She'd rather sleep in her formal gown.  I wonder why.  But really, the bunny suit is cute!

Every so often all the residents get the wish to slide on the water slide.  It's an easy way for them to earn a few happiness points.  But I just don't get why Hydrophobic Frank always wants to go water sliding.  He gets the happiness points, but also gets a -20 moodlet for the next few hours.  The poor guy just doesn't learn.  So, Frank, everyone's getting dressed up to have their picture taken in the hot tub.  Want to join them?

What's that, Frank?  You'd rather eat Emily's gourmet dog food with extra rat poison?  Ok, I guess that's a "no" to the hot tub.  So, while everyone else relaxes in the hot tub, Frank sits alone over the chess board.  I think Frank may be getting motivated to have his SWAP treatment soon.

Would you like to know what Sstarr was doing while Frank played chess and the others socialized in the hot tub?  I found her upstairs in the music room, singing karaoke alone:

... and I have to say, if Sstarr is as bad at carrying a tune as her creator, I can understand her wanting to make sure nobody else was around to hear her sing!

Have a great weekend, everyone.

Silly Frank, going water sliding when he hates water. (though I'm rather bipolar concerning water, myself) Hopefully his SWAP will come soon so he can fully enjoy his slide.  ;D

That's my job done. ;D

But seriously, I've never had a real reason to use the bunny suit. Then I created Emily and, well... it fits the Insane trait, don't you think?

Trisha does seem to be attached to her formal wear (which is very pretty -- who wouldn't want to wear lavender satin every day?). I like the assortment of outfits in the hot tub. Did anyone wear a swimsuit?

The satin gown isn't her formal wear, it's her everyday wear. Trisha, like her creator, loves to look nice. Her formal wear is the base game wedding dress recolored, and she has it on in the picture where she's playing pool. :)

Oh, I agree - I think the bunny suit is quite charming on her!  And I'm glad I finally got a chance to see it.  But your job isn't quite done yet, my friend - you have some 'splainin' to do:  why does Emily have a cane in her inventory?  Was she planning to stay in treatment long enough to need a cane?

Swimsuit in the hot tub?  How very - well, ordinary, don't you think?  ;) To the best of my knowledge, none of them were wearing a swimsuit, but it's a little hard to be sure with this lot because they wear all sorts of things at different times.  I'm finding that to be one of the things I love about them - the fact that I never know what they're going to decide to wear, unlike most Sims who just wear the same old thing all the time.  And I have to say, kudos to the case managers who referred these Sims to treatment - you all managed to create very distinctive styles for your Sims!

I plead the fifth. ;D

I think Emily has some explaining to do. When I put her into an empty lot to put stuff into her inventory, I laid out every portable thing I could think of. I then deleted everything I didn't want to give her, cane included.

So you're telling us that you deleted the cane and then Emily somehow picked it up and put it in her inventory by herself?  Riiight.  I believe you, Seabody.  Thousands wouldn't, but I believe you.  Of course.   :P
