Help with wall
« on: August 24, 2012, 12:02:46 PM »
Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to this but I was trying to follow this tutorial: http://youtu.be/_dm7FOJG6Pk

And I seem to have gotten everything to work save one problem that I can't figure out. The wall that is currently leaving a large triangle won't let me wallpaper it at all correctly. It paints it all smooshed and sideways :( I also noticed when I was on the interior of the house that there is a small gap between the top of the window and the wall. Is there a way to fix it? The triangles are those painted black near the huge window below:

That kinda leads into how do you make things diagonal? I downloaded a house and the flooring was at a slant and I'm not sure how to paint over slanted tiles. Thanks for any help in advance!

That sort of triangle is normal when you use CFE to build sunken rooms. There's no real way to fix it that I know of, but there are some wall paintings that will look a little better. I normally use the simplest wall covers for that area, avoiding large patterns and such. You just have to experiment a bit until you find one that's good.

I didn't really understand your question about slants (sorry - I'm not english native  :) ) but if you explain me what you mean I might be able to help you. I'm not the best builder here but I've been using CFE a lot lately so who knows!

Yeah, I saw somewhere that most people hide it with exterior things like plants or statues but I couldn't figure out how to fix it in the interior. Slants... like a normal floor is squares straight across in a line but the house I downloaded from the exchange had changed the flooring so that half of the squares were at an angle.

Do you mean diagonal flooring? It's possible to place small triangles of flooring at a time by pressing Ctrl-F while placing it.  :)
