Uninstalling expansion pack affect on game?

I asked about this on pets, but didn't really word it correctly to find out what I want to know.  Realized later that this is really the best place to ask this question.

If an expansion pac is uninstalled, no matter what one, how does it affect the game, or other expansion pacs that have been installed?  In Pets, it allows all of the towns, RV, SV or any other town to have animals.  What about WA, Late Night, Generations or other pacs, how does that affect the base game and other expansion pacs that are kept if one or more are removed?

Are you saying that when you uninstall Pets it lets you have animals in the other towns?  That can't be right.  If you remove the Pets expansion pack, you won't have any animals in your game at all.

Each expansion that you uninstall will remove the items and game play that came with it.  If it's an item in the house, the game will replace it with something similar.  You may get glitches in existing games that were using the removed expansions.  New games should be perfectly fine, though.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear.  I haven't uninstalled pets yet, what I am wondering is could there be negative side effects to the base game and othe pacs when one is  uninstalled.

I know when I uninstall pets it will take all of the critters out of all the towns, but I an wondering if there would be negative side effects to my other games, which right now are SV and RV.   
Sims 3 is the first simulation game I have played (I don't count Virtual Village games) so it is all new to me.  I don't know what happens when an expension pac, no matter what one, is removed. 


RV is my favorite town and it seems to be the one town that I have problems with in strays.  One family in particular that has been, for me, negatively effected by it.  I can only figure it is a glitch in that family, as I have not had such unusual behaviors in any other families.   There are more strays in RV than I have in SV, but oh, well.   

My worry had been that if I do uninstall pets it would have an adverse affect on existiing games (sim families) in my towns to the point where I would have to uninstall and reinstall the base game and lose all of my families.  Which has me wondering about other expansion pacs, as I am considering buying one or two others.  Definitely the supernatural one.

I hate the thought of losing some of my families, two of them are at the point where they can start to have the fourth generation, and it is fun watching them interact.

Other than the absence of all content from the EP you removed, your existing games should be ok.  I uninstalled Late Night and was still able to play my existing games.

I believe you could run into problems if your last save is from one of your sims being at work in a habit hole career that does not exist anymore after the deinstall oto an expansion that brought that career into your game. I am not sure if this is true however.
I assume that expansion related traits either will just disappear from your sims list or they will be replaced by others either randomly selected or based on fulfilled wishes, choose career path or other traits of your sim.
