Pet Died While Not At Home...

My sim's dog died recently while out hunting.  Because I was trying to teach a toddler to walk, I wasn't paying attention and had no idea the animal was dead until my sim started to weep over it.  So I have no idea where the dog was at the time of death.  (Probably a good thing I'm not a real pet owner...)  In any case, what happens to the dog's ghost and tombstone, etc, since the pet did not die at home?

Have you checked the mausoleum?   It's the option to Manage the Dead, if I remember correctly.  I seem to remember seeing a horse tombstone there recently.

I had a pet that died while not at home too.  My dog was lost and I kept looking for it every day and never found it and suddenly it was announced that my pet died.  I felt really bad.

Tried that, no such luck... she's just gone.  Meanwhile one of my sims died when he wasn't at home, but his tombstone is sitting on the sidewalk on the lot where he expired
