Vampire Eyes Don't Glow
« on: August 18, 2012, 09:36:14 PM »
The best thing about Late Night vampires is their eyes, imo. I was bummed when my vampie didn't have them. I mean, they had the glowing skin and neck tattoo, but not the eyes. Does anyone know how to bring the inhuman glowy-ness back? Please and thank you for any tips/advice/ideas.

By the way, here's a picture. The portrait picture shows that he still has glowing eyes.

Welcome to our Forum.

Can you post a close up of your Sim?  I can't really see his eyes in this picture.  Are the the exact same color as before he turned into a vampire?

Can I ask, what neck tattoo are you talking about? I don't remember one on my vampires. Nor do I remember their skin glowing - at least not constantly... I have no idea why you're eyes aren't glowing though.

The neck tattoo and vampire fangs are only applied to vampire sims that are turned. The neck tattoo is the bite mark.

XiaoXuee, what colour were your Vampires eyes before he turned? The reason I ask is that the darker the eyes originally the less bright they are as a Vampire. So a Sim with bright blue eyes as a sim would have brighter Vampire eyes than a Sim who had dark brown normal eyes.

I've had Vampire toddlers being born with the tattoo.

I'll have to check my vamps for those bite marks - never noticed them myself.

If your Sim has long hair or you don't zoom into them often you probably won't notice it but mine always have them.

Hmm. I thought both had to be applied to born vampires, maybe they changed it in a patch.

Sorry for the delayed reply. Anyways, it's not just that Sim in particular, but every vampire Sim in the neighborhood I'm playing in. Here's a screenshot of another Sim, but from the same neighbourhood (just woke up and was too lazy to load up Sims for a pic):

Samoht04, his eyes were dark brown, but I used contacts so that they're light blue. All the vampires in the town are like that, so I doubt it has to do with eye colour, sadly.

The sweetest pea and pallyndrome, I have no idea about the being born w/ a tattoo thing. All I know is that fangs and tatts are automatically applied...on mine at least.

Do you mean all of your Vampires are wearing contacts? If so that could be the problem. Can you remove them and see if that works?

I'll try that right now. I doubt so since the npc Sims don't have contacts and their eyes don't glow. I'll post a picture of the Sim with and without contacts when I get the game loaded up.

-Edit-
The Sims aren't even showing up. I'm beginning to point fingers at the CC.

Are contacts CC? Or have I totally missed their addition to the game?

Your Sims wear contacts to change eye color??  What in the world is that?

Yeah, the contacts are CC and yeah, they are probably what's getting rid of the glow.

If only the vampires are not showing up then I'd guess your CC isn't compatible with Vampires but if it's all of your Sims then that's some bad CC. Either way if it affects the game like that it is definitely best to remove it.

They're not EA so I'm assuming CC, I know I saw some for Sims 2 a while back so it wouldn't surprise me if someone made them for Sims 3.
