My doctor seems to be getting more of the popups, but is all basically the same thing.  Wish they would have thrown a couple more in the mix.  I have found after you max out your career, it is just like before ambitions, you keep getting raises, but nothing new.  I am not quite sure what I was expecting to happen, but I thought they might have more choices than they do.

Well, I was telling Pam a little while ago that try #3 for me is much more promising. My guy needed to help out someone in the Library as he was Logic skilling. He had just hit level 3, so this is nice and early in the career. I think this one's a keeper. I got a great screenshot too that I'll put in the story. Stay tuned for my medical career walkthrough — I hope to have it to Carl within a week.

When you registered for the career, did you go the 'find a job' or 'register for a profession' route? Or does it not matter? I'm not sure what's happened with my Sim since she was on maternity leave from her job so she never had any pop ups whilst on maternity.

Sarah, it's not a new career, if the title of this thread confused you a little. Sorry about that. It's just revamped. So, you go through the motions as always of registering at the hospital for the medical career.

Thanks :) I knew it wasn't a 'new' career, but there hasn't been a great deal of change to my medical Sims gameplay, so I was beginning to get a bit worried in case I'd have had to register her career as a profession. I think her maternity leave literally as I installed Ambitions must have impacted on her; I've had no trouble finding jobs for my ghost hunter.

If your Sim tries an experimental treatment on another Sim, they produce this MASSIVE pill to give to the Sim receiving the treatment. Saltypaws has posted a picture of it on the first page in this thread.

I saw the picture, but I don't get why they're called "Horse Pills".

It's just a generic funny reference to any large pills. You know, I break open a new bottle of vitamins, and my wife says, "My god, those are huge — they're horse pills." I slap my leg and laugh out loud and we both hug. That kind of thing.

Horse pills...  meaning you'd have to be a horse to be able to swallow them because they're so big.  ;D

Just thought I'd add some things I've noticed while playing the new and improved medical profession.

My sim is currently level 5 in the profession. At around level 3 I believe I was prompted to do a vaccination clinic. I hadn't read up on it and thought it was something I had to do AFTER work, but after the work day was over, I couldn't find the location to do it. So I don't know if you miss it during that work day you can't do it the next work day I guess.

The second prompt I got was to go to the Criminal Warehouse and do a lecture of some sort telling them about "their medical benefits" or something like that. I noticed that while I was doing the lecture my job performance bar was going down, but when I was done and went back to work, it went back up to where it was...and higher...before doing the lecture. I don't know if that was a glitch but I thought that was interesting.

Thirdly, as Pam mentioned, sometimes when your sim is out another sim will start "not feeling well" or something of that sort. When this happens, it will pop up with the other messages, for me some lady said "I'm starting to not feel so well, I wish there was a doctor around." Well, this happened right after she got out of work and I wasn't really paying attention, plus there were other messages saying the standard "your sim left work" and made such and such dollars, so you really have to be on the look out. Since I missed it, I then got a red pop up saying the medical community would not be pleased with me for not helping whatever-her-name was.

Just thought I'd add my experiences so far :) I'll add more if I find anything else interesting  hehe.

Happy Simming!

I found those things out too.  At first, when my sim was at work, I just ignored the clinics and finally, I went ahead and x'd out work and made him go to wherever it was, I think the graveyard, have not figured that one out yet, maybe it is just in case vaccine goes bad, haha.  Only thing is, way too many people, I think the whole town came down and then they stand around and get mad because you are not getting to them fast enough and they leave.  You can only do so many, anyway, I like the new choices you have for the doctor.

My doctor got paid a whole simolean for working three days at the hospital.  :o They definitely need to work out the bugs with the new doctor assignments.

I think it was because I missed a vaccination or something. I didn't see anymore sims showing up so I just sent my doctor back to the hospital to work...and stayed there for two days.
