Samura's Last Birthday

I know! Koji reminds me of Amon too! I haven't actually read about the Halliwells, but I would love to know their backstory. Where can I find it? The greenboos are too cute; of course they're trying for more! Really, I just need Jake to produce one green boy to eventually be moved into the house, but I'd like to get several going just in case some of them get vamped or age up funny or some such.

Samura had fished for deathfish night and day to finish maxing her fishing career, and now that her elder birthday was here there was nothing to do except relax and pose for her final museum pieces.

She decided to call up her friends and throw a destination birthday party at the newly renovated Upper Lake.

Unfortunately, the day was not going to go the way that Samura had planned.

At close to 100, and on Samura's birthday, Steven Dojo passed away. He had only just put his son Koji in his crib when a strange light-headedness came over him.

Samura was devastated. Steven would never get to see what he had labored so many long years to help Samura to obtain--her immortality.

Steven just shrugged as he said goodbye. He knew it was his time, and he had had a wonderful life.

Still, the party guests were already on their way, so the Dojo household reluctantly packed up their cake and headed out to join them.

Samura put on a brave face for the crowd.

Then the sparkles overwhelmed her.

Samura: "Ugh, mirror! Now!"

Samura: "Okay, now I'm old. Why am I still riding this bicycle?"

Samura renews her request to (finally!) get a car.

As night falls, a bitter sweet day brings Samura one step closer to immortality but with a sadness in her heart.

Oh no! This sounds harder on Samura than on Steven!
From what I understand, he went happily. But, poor Samura... Well, I hope she gets that car. Not that it can replace Steven, but I'm sure that she'll feel better for having it.

It's always so sad when the first death happens.   Goodbye Steven - you will be missed.

Esther1981 is on her fifth attempt with the Halliwells and the most recent can be found here.  She hasn't updated in a while but she hasn't been but so interested in playing for a while too. :/

Great update and Happy Birthday Samura - So close!

Samura: The First Immortal

On a funny note from the last update, I forgot to include this final picture.

While old lady Samura huffed and puffed riding her bicycle home from the party, Herbert opted to take their celebrity limo service home. Seriously, shouldn't the kid be the one on the bike? Also, notice his choice of the tux, again! Well, at least the little man looks classy. Even if he did make the granny take the bike.

Once home, Samura promptly received her elder make-over.

I decided I was okay with her actually looking like an elder. Partly, it's because she is the stern matron of the family (disciplined and perfectionist traits!), destined to be the most senior of all the immortals. It also just seemed more in character with the Japanese theme to me. I haven't decided whether the rest of the immortals will get similar treatment; we'll see.

Samura poses for her sculpture.

Hebe gets busy in the kitchen, cooking ambrosia in her bathing suit while a pregnant Paige Halliwell looks on.

Plate in hand, Hebe admires her work. The ambrosia is so magical that it's actually singing!

Okay, obviously not. I just thought it was funny that the phone rang right at that moment so it looks like music notes are wafting out of the ambrosia.

Samura sits down to her meal, just another old lady.

She rises, immortal.

Hrm, when I try to "modify" my post, it deletes all the writing, so I will just have to add this note here. Jake Dojo painted Samura's final painting, but I forgot to put his name next to that too. I thought it would be a nice way of crediting the mortals to note who did what museum pieces.

Yes, that's truly awesome.
I also respect Samura's grey hair as a symbol of her wisdom and being the First Immortal.
I don't think, I've come across this in an Immortal Dynasty story before. I like it very much.
LOL @ Hebe cooking up the dish in her skivvies. The glasses she wears, crack me up every time. Great update! :)

A Birth and a Birthday Party

Thanks, everyone! One down; "only" seven more to go.

The birthdays continue. This time, it's Shin's child birthday.

Blow out the candles, birthday boy!

Right at that moment, Paige Halliwell goes into labor. Well, I guess a birth at a birthday party is pretty appropriate.

Hebe: "Aaahhhh!"
Herbert: "Eeiiii!"
Ayame: "Ahhhhhh!"
Jake: *yawn* Am I missing something?

Shin ages up with only momma Samura to notice.

Jake: *internal monologue* "Hm, why is Hebe staring at me? Is she trying to tell me something?"

Then the allure of cake convinces the entire family to grab a slice, totally ignoring Paige's cries for help.

Gee guys, what a nice bunch of friends you are! Should we help our friend in labor? Nah, there's cake!

Also, Jake still has yet to notice that his girlfriend has gone into labor, even though he's facing her direction!

Paige finally decides that everyone here is completely useless. She takes herself to the hospital.

Jake follows after her--not because he finally noticed, but because I told him to.

Paige gives birth to her and Jake's third child: a little green pee pod named Amber.

Not as epic of a name as Octavia and Demetrius, but it'll do.

Shin, meanwhile, gets a new wardrobe. His clothes are blue and yellow like his skin/hair and eyes.

Shin has a tendency to have dramatic birthdays. Just wait and see what happens at his next one!

Up next: More birthdays and a ghostly visitor.

Three Birthdays and a Proposal

The Dojo household observes a couple more birthdays. First, Hebe ages up to elder.

Then a joint birthday ages Jake up to adult and Herbert up to teen.

Jake goes first, and pretty much keeps his same look.

For Herbert, this birthday of course brings quite a change. The little green girl, by the way, is Octavia Halliwell, Jake and Paige's first child.

Well, hello there, handsome!

A surprise visitor stops by to check up on the Dojo household. Steven makes his first ghostly appearance.

Of course, he can't resist taking his son Koji out of his crib for a little snuggle time.

Samura welcomes him with a warm hug.

While Samura treasures a few moments with the love of her life, Hebe finds out that hers has passed on.

And Jake decides it's time to seal the deal.

He won't actually be able to marry Paige, of course, because of household space issues. Still, he wants to make as much a family as he can.

He knows that someday, he'll have to understand the pain that Samura and Hebe feel, but that's for another day. Jake and Paige have their whole adult lives ahead of them, and the future glows a bright (and somewhat radio active) shade of green.

I absolutely love the She rises, immortal with the accompanying picture.  Gave me shivers for some reason.  Maybe her expression?  Anyway, well done!
