Townies
« on: August 09, 2012, 07:31:38 AM »
I am in the middle of writing up all townie traits and favourites in a spreadsheet.  Would anyone like to upload when I complete it?

I have Sunset Valley, Riverview, Twinbrook, Bridgeport, Appaloosa Plains and Starlight Shores - just got starlight shores to finish and copy all to google.

Thank you for offering to share your work.  Have you looked at Google documents for an online spreadsheet?  That's what I use for a lot of Forum business.  I'm not even sure if the Forum will support uploading a spreadsheet from, say, MS Excel for example.  I'd have to check with Carl about it.

Thanks Pam!  I will have to copy all over to Google when I have time.  I start my first real job on Monday so may not have much time even for simming.

This is excellent Pam! Does this do Bulletin Board Code?

If you mean the code we use on the Forum, the answer is yes.  If you mean something else, please explain.

No, you're right. I meant what we use on here. It will be wonderful not to have to type out longhand all the code for tables - which is what I have been doing! I searched high and low for something that could convert a table to BBCode.

I could have sworn there was a BBC code for a table, I'll have to see if I can find it. And if you'd like help with this... *deep breath* I'll volunteer. It's a massive project but would be worthwhile!

There is BBCode for a table and it's even one of the little pictures when you go to make a post.  I think Chuckles was talking about just being able to copy something without having to type out the code long hand for each of the cells/columns/rows.

Jen - you mentioned that your time would be limited soon.  I'll also volunteer if you want to send over information.  I don't mind doing data entry as that was my job for 8 years.  Don't worry you'll get full credit but I know how life can be when it gets busy.

You're right Rica, and unfortunately Pam misunderstood me. Google Docs does not do that. One day I'll find something that can do that. In the meantime, back to typing it all up longhand.

If you're interested - I'm in the process of creating the same database. I already have Shang Simla, Lunar Lakes, Sunset Valley, Twinbrook, Al Simhara, Champs Les Sims and Appaloosa Plains. In case you have it already in your database or it contains other information we can share datas or convert it to one version. In Holiday locations  LTW and Careers datas are variable so the data are not included. (Sorry for my english)
The sample below (Shang Simla).

The sample below (Lunar Lakes).

In every moment i can share my datafile that contains all the cities from the sims 3 with the list of all sims that live in each other - or even i can share the .xls version of it for someone who would like to convert it and share on forums.
