Help new to game and my children were taken!!!

Hello, I am new to Sims all together just been playing for a week, well I adopted a baby and she's a young adult, then I got married and had 2 twin girls, well my sims works evening and I wasn't interacting as much as I wanted to with the twins who were children now and they got taken away...Is there a way to get them back, I invite them over they visit, but they are not in my household anymore.

When they're over, press control key, shift key, C key, type "testingcheatsenabled true" (minus quotes), shift-click on them and choose "Add Sim to Active Household". Hope this helps!
