I think I'm most excited about the wild swimming - also that it's in the patch...
What would be interesting is if you were swimming in a body of water that had shark/crocodile/piranha spawners, and the new type of death was Death by Fish.

Fish might nibble your toes, but they can only just manage bait... I think Sims are safe!

I'm excited for Summer because it is my favourite season in real life!  ;D I really hope that swimming and relaxing on the inflatable raft are not the only things Sims can do in the ocean or I will be mad! I want surfing, boogie boarding, scuba diving, jetskiing and windsurfing!  ;D Okay, doesn't have to include all of them but surfing is a must!

Excited for the return of the diving board!  ;D I really hope that toddlers can eat interact with sand now and it would be so cute if kids and toddlers could wear water wings etc. I hope they include volleyball and shells to collect!

Since it was said in the live broadcast that there would not be any boating activites, I don't think there will be any kind of surfing or jetskiing.  I suspesct swimming, the rafts, and splashing in the water will probably be it.

Though yes, totaly excited about the diving board.  I never understood why it was never in the base game.

Sims VIP have released a Seasons fact sheet! Some facts I personally found especially interesting:

  • There's a one-day holiday on the last Friday of each season as well as a festival.
  • Builders can use buydebug markers to make different items appear on a lot each season.
  • New party types: Gift Giving Party and Egg Hunt.
  • Children and teens attend school all year round, but they get snow days off.
  • Hail, fog, blizzards, heatwaves and thunderstorms are included in the weather effects (there won't be power outages, though).
  • There's no skinny dipping in the ocean, and dogs won't be able to swim in the ocean.
  • The ocean will freeze over if it gets cold enough.
  • Sims can catch colds or freeze to death if they stay outside in the cold for too long.
  • Rain will short out a Simbot.
  • Seasons will be 7 days long by default, but can be changed.
  • It can occasionally rain in summer.
  • Weather and seasons are controlled per save file!
  • You can see what temperature it is in-game. You can set it to Fahreheit or Celsius.
  • Days are longer in the summer and shorter in the winter.
  • New accessories include gloves and mittens, but not scarves.
  • Part of the patch: The icecream truck will not only not show up in winter, but it will also stop showing up at three in the morning. I'll miss my haunted demon icecream truck luring kids out of their homes at night.
  • There aren't going to be any greenhouses because Supernatural comes with indoor planters.
  • There's going to be a total of five new gnomes.
  • Plants go into hibernation in cold weather (they won't die).
  • Pumpkins are a new harvestable.
  • There's lots of new carnival-style dishes, including french fries and cinammon donuts!

Thanks for that    Ausette
There is some of those I hadn't heard of before. Like the plants going onto go into hibernation. That will put a new twist on gardening and will take longer to raise the skill.

Really really really?  My apartment dwellers will finally be able to plant apple trees and plasma fruit in their pads?  Yippee!

Awww, that fact sheet says there will be no surfing.  :( I don't really understand, I mean there are so many potential things Sims can do in the ocean other than lying on some stupid raft or swimming. Let's hope they at least bring back the 'Surfing Stimulator' from The Sims 2 instead, hopefully in a stuff or store pack maybe? They did mention a store pack to be released I think.

Kind of bummed about no new interactions for toddlers, I don't see why they can't play with sand or hide in leaves, hopefully there will be new toys for them, at least they get new clothing options.

Not keen on the tanning booth either, I've never liked tans but it looks like it could be funny.

Have they said there won't be new interactions?

Yes, it says on the fact sheet, 'No new interactions for Toddlers' which is silly really, I guess they are determined to continue to limit toddlers as much as possible then.  ::)

They don't really seem limited to me, although I would have expected something like playing in snow or something, unless by interactions they mean social wise? Because I would think something like playing snow would be an action? Well that's how I class them anyway but oh well.  :)

I've always thought that Toddlers and Elders don't get enough interactions and new stuff but that's going off topic here. Back on topic, here's what I like about Seasons.

Spring: Great that Sims can do Easter Egg Hunts, the love type games seem funny as well, wildflowers, yes, another new collectable, not so happy about the allergies though, I get those in real life so don't want to see my Sims get them. Jumping in puddles is neat, can't wait to upgrade an umbrella, I wonder if we will get Japanese parasols? I hope so!

Summer: Return of the diving board! Rollerskating! Love the Snowcone machine. Fireworks, love the Sparklers. I really, really, really hope they release a stuff or store pack with the Surfing Stimulator and Beach Volleyball, some balls and water wings for the kids would be great too.

Autumn: Trick or Treating! Can't wait to try out the pumpkin carving and a Haunted House?! Awesome! Facepainting looks neat too. Hopefully Sims can jump in piles of leaves too and the Applebobbing, funny.

Winter: Snowboarding! Snowball fights look fun too, can't wait to see what kind of Snowmen and Igloos Sims can create. Iceskating looks like fun too. Not keen on my Sims getting sick or the Ice Lounge. Wonder if Skiing will be included.

I'm looking forward to this expansion in spite of the things they left out, hopefully those are planned for a stuff or store pack. I would personally love to see a Beach or Funpark themed pack myself.

I'm starting to wonder what I'm even going to pay for with this EP now. I mean yeah sure the Weather and stuff is cool but £30 seems very steep especially when one of the main features of it was swimming in the sea and ponds is now going to be added in a patch. I won't be rushing out to buy this I don't think, maybe wait till Christmas or something because at the moment it's not looking like it's worth the £30 price tag.

I can't wait for Seasons to come out, I only just found out about it -  and I've been saying that the sims should have seasons in the game for ages! Yay! *Confetti* :D Thanks for this thread, it's really useful to find out more about the upcoming expansion pack. Wouldn't it be awesome if they had storms?

You think that price is steep? Try living in New Zealand where expansions generally cost around $70 a pop.  :( Still getting it though, in spite of my complaints I still think it looks awesome!  ;)

That is very expensive. Is that the same or more than the base game?
