Umbrellas are not only customizable but they are able to be put away.  I also noticed that there were raincoats because in today live broadcast - the little girl was in wellies and a raincoat splashing in puddles not even caring about an umbrella.

Oh awesome.  :D Haven't looked much into the broadcasts, so was just going by the screenshots.

Big coats are the best thing ever in storms. :3

Spring is looking like a fun season! I like the new flowers!

Yes, they are very pretty.  I love decorating with vases of flowers, so having ones my sims can pick themselves is just super.

With the exception of being able to make a greenhouse, (and therefor skylights in houses!), I really disliked Seasons.  You got snow.  You got rain.  You got a charming town.  Ho hum.  But THIS Seasons has me excited!  Half pipe?  Skating?  Tanning?  Swimming in ponds and ocean? AND, ALIENS!  It is definitely a gotta have for me.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
I speak perfect Nooblik, (and some Simlish)!

I checked my files and apparently I have 46.2 GB available, will that be enough to run this EP without taking too much of a memory hit?
If at first you don't succeed, call it version 1.0.

Although be warned, they may be susceptible to seasonal allergies. Don't worry though, a quick trip to the hospital to get an allergy shot will clear your Sims' symptoms quickly.

This made me groan, allergies are the bane of my existence be just my luck my sim gets them too  ::)

Not too sure about the light saber look for the umbrellas but otherwise it all looks great so far.

I'm getting very peeved with Origin, I followed his link and it automatically redirects me to the front page of the French site as i'm in France, i'm English i'm just living here and don't know enough French yet to understand it, I could change it back to the US site but it goes to the front page and I can't seem to find the one he linked to. Oh well i'm sure specs will get posted elsewhere too.

Same goes for buying through Origin, there's no way I could buy a UK copy as it will only show me the French store, hopefully somewhere like GAME will have the preorder copy as they will deliver here.

I probably won't be buying this EP.

1. Even though my computer is of great quality, I struggle with some of the larger/more higher detailed worlds. Snow coverage, rain, and other seasonal effects sound like they'll make my experience even worse.
2. I love having the perfect weather. It really makes the towns seem, you know, more Sim-like. It adds a certain aspect of character.
3. From my Sims 2 experience, Sims are walking-talking lightning conductors. On a 'rainy day', it will usually rain ALL day -- and if I need to go to work or get the mail, there's about a 25 percent chance that my Sim will get struck. About a 75 percent chance that a random object will get struck. It seems that there's a higher chance of getting struck towards the end of the storm, as I've had situations where something outside gets struck and moments later the rain stops, meaning my Sim has to put out the fires themself.
4. I have no money.

I don't really think you can rely on what was in Sims 2.  Although we have EP's that are similar to the EP's for Sims 1 or 2, I've found that they usually learn from earlier ones and improve on them. I was not particularly fond of Unleashed for Sims 1 or Pets for Sims 2, but Pets for Sims 3 is great.
Also, we had the option to make it continually summer or whatever season you wanted and I would hope that they include that feature in this version.

I'm quite excited for this one. I feel like (having only got all the expansion packs and started playing again at the beginning of this year though) that I'm entirely overwhelmed by all the aspects of The Sims 3... looking forward to swimming in the sea and the season events though :D

Hopefully my Macbook Pro graphics will be able to handle this...

Love. Life. Beautifully.

For the first time since Medieval was released, I squealed girlishly at the sight of the announcement of Seasons! It's like the 'everything you missed from sims 2' pack combined with "Everything you wanted but haven't got yet" pack. I LOVE the swimmable ponds/lakes/sea!!! And I'm psyched for the ice furniture. We'll be able to have ice stuff that is too big for the sculpting station! I hope they release an ice bedroom in the store too! And I love the idea of even more collectables. Eeee!!

I can see some interesting glitches already: Sims will explore a dive well with an umbrella an not get soaked.

On the Q&A for the Live Feed thing for Seasons they said that the Weather does affect Gardening. I have to say though that the Weather Control thing looks awesome!

Did you see my reply to your other post?  :)

Considering most Expansions are around 3.5GB large I'm pretty sure you'll have enough space on your Computer.  ;)

These seasonal things have gotten me somewhat excited, certainly moreso than the Sims 2 did. But, quite frankly, I'm just here for the aliens.  :P
