Does the grim reaper come for sims who have been eaten by the cow plant?

I've only had one sim eaten by it and if I remember correctly, Grim never came.

I was disappointed with my one Cow Plant.  My Sims fed it and played with it every day and nothing ever happened, bad or good.

Yes Grim comes.

You have to make sure that your Sims aren't feeding it when they go out and play with it. At times I've had to put my plant inside a locked fence to keep everyone away.  Three to five days after it's eaten it will show cake. That's when you make sure that there is a "dinner" Sim around. Once the plant has gulped the Sim down it may or may not keep them. I've had as many regurgitated as eaten, it's very picky about traits and hygiene. If the plant does eat the Sim, Grim arrives and you'll have a ghost that is the same color as the starved ones....pink I think?

Pam the reason nothing ever happened is that you have to keep your Sims away from it. You can use the pet or praise interactions but every time your Sim plays with it they feed it some kind of lollipop looking thing and don't let them feed it.

What's a cow plant?

Grim came for my sims, too.

What's a cow plant?

Here it is.

From Sims Wiki:

Quote
In The Sims 3 the Laganaphyllis Simnovorii can be bought as a premium content item as part of the Killer Classics set from The Sims 3 Store for 1,200 SimPoints. In-game, the plant costs 450 simoleons. The plant will display its cake when it hasn't been fed for 3 days, and Sims will be instantly drawn to it. When feeding the plant, they give it a swordfish which doesn't cost anything, unlike the Leg O' Lamb in The Sims 2: University. Once eaten, a Sim will die, although the plant will often spit the Sim back out if he or she has bad hygiene, or has the Good, Lucky, Unlucky or Daredevil traits. The Cowplant will not eat babies, toddlers, or children. If the Sim does die, it will become a purple starvation ghost and the Grim Reaper will always come, unlike in The Sims 2. After it has eaten a Sim, other Sims can choose to praise or scold it, and can milk it, which will reset them to day one of their current life state and give them the "Divine Meal" moodlet with +75 mood for 7 days.

I had a Sim get eaten by it and the game said he died of starvation.   Then Grim came and got him just like any other death in the game.

Grim came for the cow plant?  Awesome.  I'm going to have to give it a try again.  Like Pam, I kept feeding mine and wondering why I never could get milk from it and never had it eat anything except what I fed it.  I felt so sorry for it being hungry!
What?  Grannies can't play games?

I meant the game said the dead Sim died of starvation when he was really eaten by the cowplant.

Don't worry, it'll be fine. Just make sure that once the cake appears that you have a Sim in mind for supper. If the plant won't eat him after swallowing and gives him back, don't worry, The cycle starts again. However if it's offering cake and no Sim takes the bait the plant will eventually die. I can't remember how long it takes, maybe a day?  If no one takes the cake  you will have to feed it yourself before it dies.

Sometimes you'll get the message that it won't eat you now. If you really want to get rid of that Sim try again the next time cake appears, twice might be the charm.

Well, in a way the sim does die from starvation.  The cowplant's, that is.  And... I've not bought the content, but the thought occurs to me... will this thing eat paparazzi?  Because I might be willing to pony up some cash if that were a way to get rid of them.

;D That's why I bought it in the first place! That and to do away with lazy maids.

I don't know if anyone has had a different experience but in my game the NPCs just ignored the plant.

After a lot of experimenting I finally got some paparazzi gulped but it took a lot of doing. I kept several plants in a fenced area with a locked gate. When the timing was right I used the MOO cheat to move the NPC inside the fenced area. Then and only then would they notice the cake. The result was the same as playable Sims. They were always gulped down but sometimes they were eaten sometimes they weren't.

Actually, my one person to die from the cow plant was a paparazzi.  I didn't do anything to coerce him.  He just got bored waiting on my home body writer to leave her nest.
