This has happened a couple of times in the same save file now.

A skinny dipper leaves a cheap hot tub, only to disappear. She takes the cheap stereo on the hot tub as well. Her clothes are still on the ground. NRaas ErrorTrapper brings up a notification with an error code, then records it. Overwatcher’s alarm goes off later, and along with other stuff says “Sims reset: 1”. Is my hot tub broken or something (not in the way that sims could repair, BTW)? I’ve already reset it once, but will I have to buy it anew?

“You ought to upgrade to Windows 7!”, they said. “It’ll help your games run so much better!”, they said. If I see them again, then they had better know how to stabilize an on-the-fritz copy of The Sims 3 that was working just fine on Windows XP.

Is it your own Sim in the hot tub or a guest?  As for taking the stereo, they almost always do that because it's considered portable and they only put it out when they are actually in the hot tub.  Mine have done that ever since hot tubs first came out in Sims 3.

It was a guest, but it was MY stereo that I purchased. Funny thing, once I got it back it duplicated itself.
Ironically, I think it may have been the same guest both times. The mods already reset her but is that sim under some kind of publicity curse? (I say that because she was a 5-star celeb, in Bridgeport by the way.)

I'm getting the same issue right now in Bridgeport with my sim exiting his hot tub and disappearing. I exit and restart.

Often other sims leave my hot tub and take the stereo. Since you have NRaas mods, just transfer their inventory to yours and get it back.

That’s exactly what I did. Then when that sim was reset she still had it in her inventory.
And I don’t think you would need NRaas to recover your sim. You could just use the resetsim cheat if you know his first and last name.
This tidbit may not help but the hot tub this happened with was the one in Bridgeport’s SugarCube (I think it’s called that.)

I reset and then take the item from their inventory.
