Horrible Background Noise!!
« on: July 26, 2012, 11:01:46 PM »
Ok so I was playing sims in Sunset Valley like normal, and all of a sudden I start hearing something that sounds like a tv on full blast! It starts with the sound of computer games, then something like a cartoon character laughing hysterically and bouncing noises, some music, a silly seductive male voice to the background of some romantic music, I can't remember the rest.  It's only a few seconds long, but it loops endlessly, plays at max volume and continues even when you pause the game or enter build mode. I have Generations Late Night and Pets, but I don't know if it's the disc or what..?

This sounds like the bug that causes the sound to go full blast when someone is playing computer games or video games and then it doesn't stop for a while.  You probably  just need to save and go to main menu.  It should be gone by the time you get back into the game.  I've never known a fix but I know it sure is annoying.

If it even plays while you have it paused, have you checked if it's something outside of Sims 3? At some point I thought that I couldn't turn my radio off but then I figured out that I just had Pandora playing in the background.

Also check to see if someone in the household is playing a computer game, either on a desktop or a laptop.  Sometimes my Sims pull out their laptops and start with the computer games without me knowing until I hear the loud noise.

Pam's right - look for a computer in use first.  If it's not in your household, look around the various parks.  After a reset sim action Cycl0n3's computer was left on a table in the central park and (it seemed) every Sim in the game came along and played computer games on it.  My Sim was fishing at Recurve Strand and it still blasted my ears.  I had to delete the computer in cheat mode.

If you have gnomes on your lot they will often go around turning on tvs and radios and that can be annoying and noisy as well.
What?  Grannies can't play games?
