May need a fresh reinstall after trying to install Diesel Stuff (*UPDATED, SOS)

Sorry for the double post, but have a brief update. I'm unsure of what this means yet, but I installed the base game, opened the launcher and installed all the updates (it took FOREVER).

I just inserted World Adventures to install, and got a "Warning! The Sims 3 Version is more recent than expected."

So... is this okay? I got that notice once before when I tried to install OLS after Showtime, and that was the first time I experienced the disappearing EPs/SPs, so I'm nervous.

Yes that's exactly what it's supposed to say and that's fine.  It just means that you have the latest update for the base game. 

Aliases on a Mac are shortcuts on a PC and yes if you have a problem you can always revert to your back up and attempt it again.

It worked! Thanks all so much for all the help.

It seems the problem was not updating (or at least checking for updates) after every disc. This time, I did that. A couple of installers quit unexpectedly and I was like "great," but it didnt make the other EPs/SPs disappear after doing so. I just reopened it and installed again.
