Sims 3 - Option Menu/Needs Bar (User Interface) Disappeared

I am on the sixth generation of a family that I have been playing with for some time now. I saved and exited the game and when I started playing it again, the option menu/needs bar is gone.  I have tried things listed on the Sims forum to fix it, but it still didn't work.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Does anyone have any idea on how to fix it?  Thanks in advance!

Are you talking about the User Interface?  The blue dashboard that is found at the bottom of the screen while in the game?  Or is this something else?

Yes, I'm talking about the User Interface.

Have you pressed the Tab button? That enters Cameraman mode where the UI disappears and lets you move freely.


I know it sounds silly, but I've heard of people who did that accidentally.

Ratchie & Seabody, thanks for the advice!    Unfortunately, neither one solved my issue.

Is there anyway you could take a printscreen of it?  If you're a Mac, you'll need to use command + shift + 3 but on a PC just hit Print screen and then paste it into Paint.   I ask this so that we can see exactly what you're looking at.   Have you tried going to a backup file to see if it is still happening there ?
