Sims 3 PS3 Messed up legacy
« on: July 24, 2012, 11:19:04 AM »
When a sim dies in my family he gets deleted from the family tree. Why is that? What happen to his remains?

It's not fun unless you can grow a family tree. It's basically like wasting your time playing as someone

Does anyone know how to fix this?

There is no option for managing the dead at the cemetery. Why is that?

 :)

Welcome to the forum, Scavy.  I edited your post to remove the poll, as we prefer not to have large numbers of polls on the forum.

I play the PC version of the game, and in that version, when a Sim dies their remains are in a box/urn (if indoors) or under a gravestone (outdoors).  Sometimes I've had the Sim die indoors and their grave has appeared outdoors, so it's worth looking around a bit to find the remains.

Scavy, we just don't have as many members playing Sims on console, so it may take a while to get an answer.  One thing I'm wondering about, is this problem happening just in one game or have you had the same problem in other games?  If it's just in the one game, it may be a glitch, and those happen to all of us from time to time.  Good luck, and I hope you'll find a solution to the problem.

It said on the game you can put the remains in a cemetery for piece of mind.  Well, I tried doing that and it doesn't work.  Unless I'm doing it wrong.  I tried Gilman Hill Graveyard and Goth Cemetery.

I think you have to go to build/buy mode and go to inventory and look for the remains there so you can place it outside for a gravestone or inside for an urn.  You won't see your sim as a ghost anymore though.

I have the sims 3 on console and you can't get an urn or gravestone.

I play on xbox, and I've never got to keep remains or a gravestone when someone in my family dies; they always seem to disappear with the reaper. I did have a neighbor die at a party, and the grave stayed in my yard and their ghost haunted my house...its actually really annoying, and the game wouldn't let me move the thing to a cemetery or even delete it. I also agree with the family tree situation. I hate that I can't see all the past family members.
