Self Employment - Gardner
« on: June 06, 2010, 04:25:45 PM »
My Sim is currently registered as a self-employed gardener.  Now my Sim has grown some vegetables and brought them to the consignment store to sell.  Now they did sell and my Sim gained some money from it...however...under the job tab he needs to have made $30 to improve job experience and move up from level 1.  It still says that he has made $0 as a gardner.  Does anyone know how we are supposed to sell vegetables to be able to move up levels under the self-employment career?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Have you tried selling through the inventory?

Well that is probably the most obvious solution.  Can't believe I didn't think of that!!  I'll try that out when I load up the game later tonight!

Yeah this is a little buggy. I'm sure doing it through the inventory will work, and I'm also sure the consignment shop issue will be addressed soon :)

Instead of the consignment store, have you tried just selling them at the grocery store?

Well selling in the inventory works :). Thanks for the solutions everyone!!

Still think that you should be able to sell the product in the consignment store, but whatever, I'm just happy the problem has been solved =)!

I agree that the consignment store should work, but maybe it's bugged. You'll probably get a little more for your produce if you sell it at the grocery store vs. selling it in your inventory.

Selling through the grocery store works.  However, I've had a wierd bug.  At some point I could not access the grocery store at all (I could still shop for books, and use other stores and venues); and it was when i put things from inventory to my fridge that caused this problem.

I have to shuffle things between the 2 to get the grocery store option again.  Which is a pain, since I was trying to keep the best grown stuff to plant for the next generation of fruits and veggies, grow my own cooking stock, and still wanted to make money.  :/

'solved' it by joinming the science career and starting a new garden at a new house; so lets see what happens.

John, I had a similar problem recently (before installing Ambitions).  The sim couldn't do anything with the grocery store, and he wanted to take a fishing class.  I switched to another household, and other sims had no problems with the store.  It was just this sim who had a problem with just the grocery store.  I moved him to another lot and the problem fixed itself.

I just had the thing with the grocery store happen. At the same time, my Sim couldn't fish. I removed the unknown seeds from his library to get the fishing to work again, and it also fixed the grocery store!
