The (Ordinary) Lives

This is a continuation of my previous story The (Ordinary) Lives of Barnacle Bay: http://www.carls-sims-3-guide.com/forum/index.php/topic,3233.msg60416.html#msg60416

Many months, technical issues, and a big move later, we now come back to the same sims, at the same time we left them, in a totally new world - Lucky Palms (that has been completely customised to my liking). We're still in Round 4.

So, with much joy I reintroduce you to the Fang family!

(Young Adult) William Fang (Vampire) - father/husband
(Young Adult) Suzy Fang - mother/wife
(Child) Belladonna Fang (Vampire) - daughter/triplet sister
(Child) Chimera Fang (Vampire) - daughter/triplet sister
(Child) Isolde Fang (Vampire) - daughter/triplet sister

and introducing their new pets:

Skull Fang - William's grey dog: hunter, proud, loyal.
Inferno Fang - Belladonna's black/red cat: playful, hyper, adventurous.
Phantom Fang - Chimera's grey cat: genius, neat, proud.
Poffertje Fang - Isolde's kitten: skittish, destructive, clueless.


They have purchased a lovely new home, and renovated it to include a new below-ground level.




Soon after their arrival, it was time for 4 birthdays. First, Suzy aged up to a adult, and changed her hair and wardrobe (slightly):

Will they ever get out of their colour obsessions?

So what is life like in Lucky Palms? All three girls are doing well at school of course (not hard with vampire brains). Belladonna can finally work on her athletic skill, while Isolde tries to increase her charisma. Suzy decided she would learn enough gardening to grow some plasma fruit for her family, but easier said than done - she has to start with some more ordinary fruits first. William teaches Skull his tricks, and also works on a collection of paintings for the local town (which bring in a pretty penny!).
And William and Suzy renew their love at the local vampire lounge Genevieve's.


The girls are not always little angels. Belladonna gets the itch to ditch, and skips school one day to play at a local bar. And who joins her, but Isolde! Where's that girl's conscience gone? Chimera thought the idea was boring, and didn't go. Belladonna and Isolde had fun playing games all day. When they came home Belladonna got in a lot of trouble! But somehow Isolde got off scott-free.



All the girls love their cats. Little Poffertje is a funny kitten, but all the pets love the little scamp. But not little for long - he aged up to a handsome cat, with colouring just perfect for Isolde's tastes.

So that's the Fang family in a flash. Next we'll see Sam Sekemoto and Emerald Greenwood start their new lives together!

Isolde was born with the blonde hair and yellow eyes - very cool. And in my life I've found that being a good little girl 95% of the time, lets you get off the hook the other 5%

It's finally time to meet the Sekemoto family!

Sam Sekemoto (Young Adult) - fiance
Emerald Greenwood (Young Adult - fiance

and introducing their adorable new small dog: Tootie!

Together they bought and renovated a lovely new house (thank you danefaith!):




It was time for the young couple's wedding. First, Emerald's gorgeous dress:


They had a small intimate ceremony in their garden with close family and friends.


Life quickly settled into a comfortable rhythm. Sam works at the local science lab, while Emerald spends her days at her inventing bench. Emerald has the spunk in the family - she beat up a robber one night all by herself! Tootie is a hoot, and the family discovers that they are expecting!


Before the baby is born, Sam and Emerald take the time to enjoy their last moments of freedom at a local bar. Then a few days later they saw their son for the first time - and named him Diamond.


Diamond is a Genius and Loner. Who knows where he got his hair from, but it suits him. Sam and Emerald get stuck in to teaching him to walk, talk and use the potty. They also work on their own skills: Sam now has 3 in handiness, 5 in gardening, and is promoted to Fertilizer Analyst. Emerald has 4 in handiness, and 8 in inventing. She has her mind on a specific invention for a friend, but she doesn't quite have the skill to make it just yet.
Before they know it, child number 2 is born! Sapphire is a darling little baby girl with the traits Virtuoso and Exciteable!


That's it from them for a little while. Next will be the second Malifa family (Marcus and Serena).

YES! I'm so happy to see this story back! Hope you don't have too many tech issues. You shouldn't though, as it's a lot smoother than SV.

As for Diamond's hair color, I think it might come from Holly Greenwood.

Hmmmm I'm not sure if his colour is exactly what Holly's is (was - I changed it to a more natural colour when I first starting playing her).

On to the next family! (finally). I am actually quite a bit ahead of the story at the moment because I couldn't resist playing and playing and playing.

Here is the 2nd Malifa family:

Marcus Malifa (young adult) - husband
Serena Malifa (young adult) - wife

and introducing the big, buff dog chosen by Marcus - Boof! Along with the cute little pug Serena chose - Doof!

Boof is non-destructive, loyal, and likes swimming. Doof is playful, shy, and clueless.

Marcus and Serena are living the good life in their new home on the edge of Lucky Palms lake.


They are enjoying their freedom from responsibility and are slowly working on their skills/careers. Serena wants to be an expert mixologist, so she practices at her new bar at home, then goes out to try her skills in local bars. Marcus is trying to earn a living playing drums, and often tags along with Serena to play at the bars, along with a little fun on the side.


Both Marcus and Serena have 3 celebrity stars, which gets them into most local hangouts. One night with a bit too much nectar sees them taking a chance in an elevator. Maybe not so much of a chance, since they woohoo again in their bed that night. And the funny part is, Serena is seen in the elevator by local paparazzi, but they fail to notice Marcus - so no scandal for him! That is, until someone makes up a story about him peeing in public - but he sues and wins a $1500 settlement.

The other crazy thing that happens around then, is a strange problem with their dishwasher. 2 (that's right 2!) mechanics get electrocuted to death trying to fix it! Which leaves Serena and the dogs very emotional with a little tombstone and a yellow ghost (the 2nd death didn't leave a tombstone).


Soon there is joyful news for the young family: Serena is pregnant! And Doof was too - meet the ugliest (cutest) puppy you've ever seen: Woof!


Serena has got to level 6 at mixology, 4 at cooking, 5 at charisma, and 5 at gambling (how did that happen? ). Marcus is 9 at drums and 4 at athletics.
Soon it is time to meet the newest addition to the family: Alonso Malifa. His traits are athletic and artistic.
Serena and Marcus finally throw their first house party. Serena makes up some great drinks and hand delivers them to their guests. Marcus dances and soaks in the hot tub out front, and the guests have great fun. Even Lala (Marcus' stepmum) dances on their kitchen counter!


And that's it for that chapter. Next will be the very last family for Round 4 - the Fresh Start young adults. Then, will be Round 5 with a big surprise!

Welcome Alsono! I can't believe both the repairmen died. Great update. I can't wait for Round 5.

!!!ROUND 5!!!

And a huge change. I know it's weird, but I fell in love with Sunlit Tides (and was a little sick of Lucky Palms) so I moved them all again! Lol Now Round 5 can start in Sunlit Tides:

As usual, the round starts with the ordinary McGraw family.

Stiles McGraw (Elder) - husband/father
Monica McGraw (Adult) - wife/mother
Jason McGraw (Teenager) - son/brother
Anton McGraw (Teenager) - son/brother
Rebecca McGraw (child) - daughter/sister

And introducing their new pets: Rebecca's cat Mona, Monica's (small) dog Peewee, and the boys' dog Drew.


Life is pretty ordinary for this family. But that doesn't mean it's not heaps of fun! And there are pockets of oddness if you look close enough (the martial arts equipment in the backyard, for example). And there are always birthdays! First up is Rebecca.


She blossoms into a beautiful teenager with her new trait Vegetarian. She chooses a pink wardrobe and joins the newspaper and art clubs at high school. She may look entirely sweet and innocent, but she gets away with more than you'd think. Like crashing a party and leaving a doorbell prank.


After a short separation Jason quickly patches things up with his girlfriend Ingrid Crumplebottom. Stiles and Monica revive their love at a local bar that suits Stiles new 2 celebrity stars, but not his tastes. Then it's time for Jason's birthday. His parents give him a car!.


Jason gains the brave trait. Then he shocks his parents by choosing the strangest wardrobe they've ever seen! He explains that he wants to live the adventurer life, and look the part. And why can't he look dashing at the same time? Jason moves out with his new car and Anton agrees to let him take Drew.


On the weekend Monica and Rebecca have a lovely day at the newly renovated local pool. Saunas, sprinklers, hot tub, slides, holding breath contests in the pool, and massages. Rebecca hangs out with Raspberry Bernard.


Rebecca and Anton learn to drive in their parents' cars - at least the island roads are nice and quiet. Stiles and Monica try out the new casino, and Monica bonds with little Peewee. Stiles is promoted to Conductor (classical music career level 9), and Monica is promoted to Department Head (education career level 7). Then it's time for Anton to grow up. He gains the Animal Lover trait, decides not to leave home just yet, and renovates the room he used to share with Jason into a comfy ordinary bedroom.



At graduation Anton is voted 'Most likely to become a sports star'. But Anton has different ideas. With his dream of becoming a firefighter superhero at the forefront of his mind, he gets a job at the local fire department, and gets to put out his first fire!


...so that's the McGraw family. We'll catch up with Jason later on Round 5. Next up is the Steel family.
