A few vampire questions
« on: July 22, 2012, 04:09:05 AM »
Hi all, in my game I'm trying to make a huge family tree and it's going well, I'm getting a little bit bored and thought I would introduce a vampire to the tree, my concern was do they die? I didn't want an eternal sim, but I've read the guide and seen that they do die they just live longer.

I also saw that if you get sick of having a vampire you can pay to get them turned human again, if I did that when they were an elder vampire would they die in just the same way as a human would when they reach 90 ish days old (I know the 90 days is a guide as one of my sims just died aged 120 lol)

Can teenagers been turned or do I need to wait till they are young adult or adult? One of my teenagers has a vampire friend but there is no option to ask to be turned so that got me thinking that you can't turn teenagers?

Thanks

Vampires do die, however their Adult Lifestages last for 100 Days each, on Normal Lifespans Setting. So they just live longer, only Young Adults and Adults have the extended lifestages, as Elder Vampires have the same Stage as normal Sims. I believe after living for over 200 Days it will still say a Vampire Elder is 75 Days old.  ::)

You can cure them at the science centre. I think that Vampires who die of old age are still the normal grey ghost, the red ghost is only if they die from thirst.

Only Young Adults, Adults and Elders can be turned. The only way to get a teen vampire is for a Vampire to breed with a Sim or another Vampire. I think Vampire offspring have like 100% chance of becoming a Vampire. They can't drink blood till they turn Young Adult though.

Thank you :)

She's not far off being a young adult so I'll just keep her friend bar up with the vampire then ask to turn as soon as I can, so she can still have babies even though she will be a vampire? That's good to know for my family tree :)

If you're not keen on the lifespan, you can keep track of their age in Sim days and cake them up to the next stage when the time would come for a normal Sim. Which is what I do in legacies and challenges.

Yeah, but what is GAA?  Also, which challenges are you talking about where you use cake on vampires?

You can use the cake up option in these life stages(baby, toddler, child, teen, young adult, adult) you can only cake up once in twenty four hours so if you cake a baby up to toddler you will have to wait a day before having them blow out birthday candles again. Elders will not be able to cake up and neither will any pregnant Sims even if they are not yet confirmed as being pregnant.

GAA = Generally Accepted Acronyms on the forum. It's a sticky, and you even have a few posts in it, Pam!

Indeed.  But to use the acronym for the acronyms page is a bit confusing for a lot of the members.  If I had my way, there would be no acronyms used at all!  My brain always trips over them even when it's ones I see often.
