Using the Back-up File

I just installed a new stuff pack, so to be safe, I took the one saved game that was most important to me and its back-up and moved them before I installed.  Unfortunately, after I installed I realized I didn't grab the right file.  I grabbed the back-up just fine, but instead of the regular file I grabbed one with "bad" in its title, which I assume is a bad thing and I shouldn't use it.  I do have the back-up, though.  I've never had to use one before, how do I do that?

Just rename the file and change the last part from .backup to .sims3

In your Saves file, you'll see something like LunarLakes.sim3.backup. Delete backup and the period, so you have LunarLakes.sim3 and voila! new playable file.
