Someone commented in the BB thread that they didn't like it because it just seemed thrown together without much care. After playing there for a few short whiles, I'd have to agree - at least about the community lots. The reason it was a few 'short whiles' is because it kept freezing, and I'd have to restart the game. I have a high-end computer, so that's not normally a problem. In the end I copied a couple of lots  wanted to the bin, and decided to try for another town. Plus, there's those awful pirate boots, that, once installed, you'll need twallan's dresser mod to get rid of :( Just to top it off, there are no special seeds spawners. Oh, and if you have nightlife, nearly everyone in town is a celebrity. It makes it hard to find someone to use 'charming introduction' on. I thought they were exaggerating when they said that, but seriously. 95% of the town are celebrities.

The fact that it's all shiny and new right now may be affecting me a little bit, but I am loving Lucky Palms so much. The world itself is visually stunning and the prebuilt houses are gorgeous. The only thing it misses out on is the "cozy" or "home-y" feel of some of the other worlds, but I'm pretty sure that's intentional. It's definitely my favorite world, at least right now.

If I were to get over my Lucky Palms-obsession eventually, I would probably go back to loving Riverview or Bridgeport the most. Bridgeport especially stands out because it's completely different from everything else. Sunset Valley and Hidden Springs are also pretty great. Barnacle Bay, Appaloosa Plains and Starlight Shores are not particularly memorable to me. I've played in all of them, but I have no idea what they look like, and when it comes to generic and "vanilla" worlds, Sunset Valley and Riverview are just much more interesting. I didn't buy Lunar Lakes because the atmosphere was too sci-fi for my taste. I like natural.

As for Twinbrook, I never really cared much for it. Then again, I haven't played it much, but I kind of disliked the swamp area. The world seemed to veer into a darker, edgier, dirtier territory whereas I was expecting something more Riverview-esque. Maybe I should give it another shot if I feel like playing in that kind of atmosphere. I'm assuming Moonlight Falls will be pretty dark as well, but this time I'll be ready for it.

For the record, Shang Simla and Al Simhara would both be way ahead of the rest for me if WA worlds were playable in the same way.

Barnacle Bay is a close second to Riverview for me (once special seed spawners are added), with Twinbrook and AP in a tie for third. I'm not a particular fan of Sunset Valley. I just got Starlight Shores with Showtime, and while it's really pretty, it's also horribly laggy. I like HS, especially the green sims (yay colors) but I haven't had time to play it much yet. I don't like LL, and I've never played Bridgeport because no mod can save me from the seizures I had when I hit the flashing lights in the clubs.

I literally can't decide between HS, Riverview, AP and BB. But if I had to chose just one, I would chose Hidden Springs, until at least I play LL or LP. I'm way beyond over Sunset Valley, and I feel like it's overused, and it feels like an old shoe that was once good, but has worn to shreds. I love the slightly frivolous feel to HS, with green Sims walking around. Plus, I can use my favorite SP there, KPST. Riverview has my favorite TS2 families and Sims-The Newbies, The Broke's, Don Lothario, and of course, my favorite, The Grisby's. AP has a beautiful scenery and is just as good as SV, town wise. That and being an animal lover (particularly cats of course), my favorite Sim of the entire TS3 Series, Hetty Lionheart lives there. I love Starlight Shores, and Barnacle Bay, but BB has that fun pirate theme.   8)  ;D

My favorite has to be Hidden Springs. It reminds me of these two little mountain towns in Idaho that are near each other-- One is busier and updated and touristy, and the other is made up of all different kinds of cabins (from tiny one room cabins, to four story log mansions) but still has gravel roads.

I also like Riverview, but I don't like how the center "island" area is so small and you can't do much with it.

Do u think I should buy Hidden Springs or is it a waste of money?

I don't have Showtime nor any of the store-worlds except for Riverview. From among the worlds I do have, Appaloosa Plains is definitely my favourite. The town center has everything in close proximity for convenience, there is a really generous amount of spawners, some of the townies have really grown on me (the Fox family for example), the rabbit holes and community lots look quite good, and it is the only neigbourhood that is actually built for pets. That is a must for me, since I'm a huge animal lover. A town without pets, or one that doesn't even have dishes and toys for the four-legged family members, is just not for me. The only two downsides are a lack of small, affordable but functional starter lots (the existing starters are horrible IMO) for poorer townies, and the lack of space for more Late Night venues.

Riverview doesn't look half bad, but doesn't appeal to me enough to invest the time to find good spots for the Pets lot and equip the houses with pet stuff. Sunset Valley has beach appeal, but lacks room for anything and generally feels very dated. Twinbrook leaves me cold, and Bridgeport is totally off-putting since I can't stand big cities, skyscrapers or vampires.

I find that I usually use Bridgeport, I hate Appaloosa Plains with a passion, I'm not sure why, but I almost never use pets and it being so pet oriented maybe why. Maybe I could edit it to be be perfect.

If EA made a town that had all content - maybe with or after the release of their final EP - that would be the best. I'm hoping to make my own small  centralised world that will meet that criteria.

I would say Hidden Springs is definitely worth it. If you needed help deciding you could look at the Hidden Springs topic from when it came out.

I don't know, Chuckles. I had so many bugs, lagging and crashes in HS, I almost gave up my game.

My preferences in order...
  • Lucky Palms: the only thing that would make this better is to have it fully loaded with all content/community lots
  • Appaloosa Plains: I love the layout but wish all the houses didn't include pets, even though I tend to end up with a cat in my games.
  • Starlight Shores: nice houses and decent layout
  • Barnacle Bay: small, simple, and uncluttered
  • Riverview: countryness
  • Hidden Springs: just doesn't ring my bell
  • Sunset Valley: boring just because
  • Lunar Lakes: love the uniqueness but the house are way to small and no room for adding content
  • Twinbrook: ugly as sin, actually so ugly it makes sin look pretty
  • Bridgeport: hate with a passion, too small and too many tall buildings (yep I am a country girl)

Barnacle Bay is my absolute flat out least favourite, it's horrible - I'm not even exaggerating when I say that I could have made that except the only difference between EA's BB and my BB is that mine would have some effort put into it. ::) I intend on taking my Dreamers to BB just because I'm a control freak and so when I say I'll do every town in order, I mean I'll do every town in order, but when I loaded that world up for the first time I was instantly so annoyed at actually having gotten my Mum to have paid for that.

Personally for normal gameplay, dynasties and/or in terms of landscape, I like Riverview the most, with interesting characters and fairly nice coordination and landscaping. AP a close second. Probably because I live in a heavily built-up area, so the more open, cozy feel of these towns appeals to me more. I also quite like Lunar Lakes (for its different-ness, I guess?).

Lucky Palms actually looks good though I don't have it.

Challenges - well of course it depends on the challenge, but usually if I don't see a strong reason to pick any one over another (see: UC for Career Caps, AP for the Life State Race), I go for Sunset Valley due to familiarity with the characters and layout.

Currently, my favourite world is the one I'm building ;D

Kidding aside, I really like Apaloosa Plains, Twinbrook, Starlight Shores AND Sunset Valley. They're all very different, and have different plus points, but SS is gorgeous, and a lot of fun (the townies there are a hoot), Twinbrook has the best landscaping, AP is both lovely to look at and great for pets (although far too big for little creatures to get round easily)... and, well, Sunset Valley is where I've played most, so has the whole "it's not perfect, but it's home" charm. Plus, it's easy to get around!

Bridgeport is good-looking, but an absolute pain to play. I don't have any of the store-worlds, although Lucky Palms looks interesting.

I fell in instant love with Lucky Palms. Lots of places to put everything from other expansions and a cool little storyline. The converted houses by the dried up lake are cute and interesting. The main couple I play are a thief and scientist so work is right down the road!
