For anyone who has Lunar Lakes, would you recommend it? Simpoints for Christmas and no idea what to do with them.
Oh my gosh give them to me! My wishlist is miles...Just kidding of course, but I feel safe enough here to share my first thought.
I don't know that I can really 'rank' my favourite towns, as where I play changes based on what's newest. I will share my thoughts though, in order of release. I have all current released expansions (up to Seasons), Riverview, Hidden Springs, and Monte Vista.
Sunset Valley--I hardly ever play here. I think it is a well-developed world and I liked it well enough when I first got the game, but as I said I play what's newest and so it's been a long time.
Riverview--I actually didn't play this town for awhile after I got it. I decided it was a good fit for a commune project I was playing so I spent some time there. I think a lot of the townies are very nice-looking and I like the stories, for example the Brokes living in a 'trailer park' all on one lot, genius! I like any town that has a built-in community garden, as I play a lot of gardeners, so that's a plus. And I think the new lots fit in well, there's a lot of space.
Twinbrook--Like Trip, I
love Twinbrook. I'm not even sure why. I think part or most of it is Goodwin Goode. As anyone who read Schipperke's
Mission Highly Unlikely knows, I am in love with Goodwin. He is the reason I chose to do my Immortal Dynasty in Twinbrook (spoilers, sorry) and since I've been playing that for so long I've got really attached to the place. There's not much space and it's hard to fit everything in, but it's doable. Playing in a town like that as much as I have, you figure out ways to do things. Also, it has a gorgeous community garden and as I mentioned, I appreciate that.
Bridgeport--I played a Selfsim family here. It was difficult fitting three growing boys into a studio apartment, but we managed! I actually really enjoyed the challenges of raising a family in the big city. As MoMoll mentioned, the townies are a lot of fun. My Self-sim's sons married Jun Xu, Moxie Logan, Flo Flo Chique and Bianca Rubble and a daughter married Bronson Littler. All of whom required ageing down, but oh well. I played it for the film career, and it's really nice to have all the bars placed, and the big city is interesting.
Hidden Springs--A beautiful town, to be sure. It's cool how they have the barracks at the military base. I set up a fairy family, thinking it was the perfect place, but I didn't stay long because there are
no harvestable wild plants. Although it just occurred to me that I could copy the Twinbrook garden in.
Appaloosa Plains--If you have pets, or like to play with horses, this is the ideal town. Of course, it was created for that, so it makes sense. Good for Dynasties as well with the variety of good-looking and wealthy townies. Also, has the most pregnant Sims at start of game that I've ever seen.
Starlight Shores--I played a
Who's Your Daddy challenge here for awhile. It looks very much like Southern California, so it feels like home. Again, of course it's good for what it's designed for, and if you want to play a Performer this is the ideal place. Plenty of venues everywhere. There are also nice townies and the variety for WYD was very pleasing. Finally, home to one of the coolest EA houses I have seen--The Castle. I saved it to my library so I can use it anywhere. Gorgeous.
Moonlight Falls--I love this town. Supernatural was my most exciting expansion, so I enjoy the built-in occults. The elixir shop is amazing for making money. The whole town has a nice foggy, spooky feel that I like for fairy tale stories. There is a lot of space, too, to add missing lots. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of small parks that are pretty pointless and as far as I can tell, a colossal waste of space.
Monte Vista--My most recent acquisition. I am in love with Italy, so I was really looking forward to this town. Packed with skilled, good-looking (although inexplicable sunglass-wearing) Sims, I can't wait to start a Dynasty here. Of course, I did just get it so I've hardly played it all yet.
