I had no problems with downloading it at all. I have all expansion packs except for Katey Perry and Diesel.

Glad to hear that most people can download ok! I found a thread discussing Audren's problem on ModTheSims (hope it's ok to link to them): http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=393251

Hopefully, this should help anyone with this problem.

OhMyZeus, thanks for recommending - anyone who likes this, when the final, finished, shiny version is released, please recommend that one as well :D Like I said in my previous post, if you're not betatesting (if you still want to beta, but haven't let me know yet, that's fine, just PM me :) ) PLEASE wait for the final world - there will be quite a few fixes made by that point!

OK party people, I've had reports of sunken lots - I found this too in EiG, when importing a residential lot, and used CFE to fix... However, it seems it's a reasonably common problem, and whilst I'm unfortunately unable to fix it in CAW (sorry), there is a way to fix it: there's a thread discussing it here:
http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=426932

The relevant bit of info is this, from Lacey010:
"If you open the cheat console and type "help" without the quotes you should find a cheat to help with this problem. In mine it is "SetImportedTerrainOffset (value)" for the value use a positive number to move it one way and a negative number to move it the other way e.g 1 or -1 "

Here's another link, giving very clear instructions, and a different way to fix it...

http://www.flyingacres.com/NeighborlySims3/showthread.php?tid=1763&pid=30124

Basically, it looks like this just happens sometimes - it's not a problem with any particular world, it's just a glitch :(

Another problem I did not foresee - graphics troubles... Creating some family for populating just... didn't go so well. This was... slightly disturbing to see :/

So, I'm taking a couple of nights off from working in CAW and playing with the world, until I can clean out my computer and check if the graphics card is ok...

Okay, I got the island downloaded after doing absolutely nothing differently, so I have no idea what happened. At least I'm playing it, though.  ;D

@ Castaras - LOL! Resistance is futile....

@Audren - Yay! Very pleased you could download it, hope it's not a huge disappointment after all that effort :)

K, so, my computer is filled with crud (combination of cat, it sitting on a carpet, and me, like an eejit, never cleaning it out), and my graphics card is, according to several reputable sites, completely incapable of handling all these EPs... Operation Spring Clean is therefore underway, and when all the crap is cleared out, it should be fine to finish this world (processing power is good enough to make-up for some graphics weakness)... So please do keep sending me your feedback and fix-its, I am keeping note of everything that needs fixing, and will be able to blitz it all when I start up again.

Thinking longer-term, I've ordered a new graphics card, so any future worlds won't bust my poor 'puter completely...

Oh, and there's a surprise in the works as well. Something completely different...

Hello everyone - I know I've been a bit quiet of late, I promise I've been using the time wisely.

OK, so, computer is now all cleaned out. The new graphics card is, very irritatingly, apparently incompatible with the motherboard (second hand home-built computer, fairly hard to get info on specs), so RAWR (we wasted a whole Sunday afternoon discovering that). And, I am going away on holiday next week. SO! I am going to try and make up for lost time, and finish this week, and upload the finished version before I go away. So, beta testers, if you've noticed any more fixes (I've noticed quite a few myself), please let me know this week.

Sorry it has taken me so long to download - or try to. I've had a lot of projects going - some with time constraints. Anyhow, I had planned to do some extensive playtesting today and tomorrow, but for some reason it won't download. I have all EPs but don't have a few SPs. I don't have KP, DS or MS. The launcher just says that there is an error and to check the log. This is what the log says:

I really like this so far! And I'm impressed, since my only attempts to use CAW ended up in complete failure  ::). But well, I didn't really use many tutorials, just EA's guide which is not as good as some other tutorials I've seen.

Anyways, have you thought about building on the back part? where that huge beach is? I think it would look cool to make another beach there, maybe with a pier if you want to. I've never built one myself but I've seen pictures and it looks really cool.

You can let me know when you come to the testing part, if you want. If I have time at the moment I will be glad to help.

Hmm, Chuckles - that's a bit of a mystery. Don't worry at all about not getting around to it as yet, I know that life has a habit of keeping people busy :) That error looks like I may have used some store content (as for stuff packs, I've got Fast Living and got OLS free with some promotion, but tried to avoid using them, and have no store worlds) - perhaps store content not available in the US, but I've really tried to avoid that, so I can't think what it might be - and in any case, unavailable content *should* just be replaced at the beginning of a game... I will do some research on forums and post any fixes I find. Audren had some problems downloading it, and was later able to download it without a problem, so I never found out what caused it...

Frey, glad you like it! I've left the beach fairly empty on purpose - I like that it's a bit untouched (and there are plenty of spawners around - it's not quite as empty as it looks). There is a beach lot there, which is empty as well, but is obviously a good candidate for upgrading - there are three beach lots in all, one of which was meant to have a pier, but unfortuantely my graphics card can't handle it (whenever I try and make it, CAW crashes). I might upload this lot in the future.

In the meantime, I'm off away for a week Saturday morning - I've applied fixes to things that people have let me know about, and will do my level best to upload the completed (unpopulated) world by Friday night. I'll be writing a story when I get back  (my first ever Immortal Dynasty - it won't be eligible for the HoF as it's not an approved world, but what does that matter :) ), and after I've finished, I'll upload a populated version of the Island, with characters from the story (and maybe a few more houses)... But don't worry about waiting for that, I have NO idea how long the story is going to take.

It turns out that I really love using CAW, so if people have ideas for worlds they'd like to see, do let me know - I can't promise anything, but I'd certainly like to try my hand at some more worlds. My next project is currently a secret, but should be a fairly quick and easy-to-make one...

Thank you everyone who has commented, read, and most of all, those who offered their time and help testing! I really appreciate it :) I hope that you enjoy the world, and thank you for coming along for the ride!

Thank you Krrank!

Apologies for the long silence, but I've been away for a week... I've had a lot of really helpful feedback, and also seen some world-inspiring things while I've been away, so I've taken the decision not to release this Island just yet - I want to adjust some things first. I want this to be as good as I can make it, and it's not there yet... Hopefully I'll be able to put some hours in this week, a couple of solid sessions of CAWing should do the trick, hopefully!

Just so you know, I've been reading up on this thread and I am following your progress with much interest.
I am sorry, I cannot test play for you. I do not play with cd's, but had to download the base game on my hard disk, together with the few expansion packs, I can allow for. I lost all CC from the Sims 3 shop too.
Under the circumstances, I cannot download Riverview, let alone, your magnificent new world.
This causes me pain. I am in awe of your world and would like to visit. I'm hoping a more intrepid Sims Traveller will take me on an adventure there real soon. :)
