Naked Sims!

Has anyone else had problems with completely naked sims.  I mean walking around town, going to work, playing guitar in public, completely naked.  I try forcing my sim to change outfit, but, it doesn't work other than into the regular outfit.  She changes for work and dashes for the car completely naked.  Ditto with working out.  Strangely, she slips into her bathing suit for swimming and will stay in that for all activities, including work and athletics, until taking her shower when she gets out naked.

This has only happenned since the latest patch, so I wonder if the patch is responsible, or if it is an older glitch. 

I've tried resetsim, it doesn't work.

Does anyone know if this can be fixed, or should I abandon this game altogether?

Does the nude sim have tiles around her? And does she have the insane trait? I understand insane sims still shouldn't be nude! Just thought I'd ask to get as much info as possible.

Are you seeing the blurred effect that censors nudity in the game?  Or are they actually naked?

No blurring or other distortions, just perfectly naked.   The only noticable difference is that the little bubble above the selected sim is blank, the side portrait is correct though.

No, she is not insane,  Her traits are: workaholic, ambitious, bookworm, loves the outdoors and artistic.  She is in the cooking career and has completed her LTW.  She lives alone and has no pets, is not pregnant, infact, nothing out of the ordinary.

I think you should check CAS, because that could easily be bad CC. Were not allowed to talk about it publicly really, did you download anything from the exchange? That's where those naked parts come from. You should double check.

I've had that from bad cc.  Download a sim and get a little more than I bargained for.

Sims running around town with no pants on....its a little disconcerting.

Yeah, I agree. I'm far from prude, but I am an active member of this family friendly forum, and I'd like to post screenshots and share my stories without making anyone uncomfortable.

Thank you all for your suggestions, but, I have no CC.   I have never, ever, downloaded anything from any site.  So, I can't understand where CC might have come from.  I don't even buy approved content from the Sims store.

I've decided, to give up on this sim and start again as I am also now getting crashes when I try to enter CAS to change her outfits.  I'll soon know if my new sim has the same problem with streaking.

Is it just the sim or the whole town? If it's just the sim, then one of Twallan's mods has a total reset feature that may fix it. You could also try moving out and back in via Edit Town.

Installing a mod isn't always the best solution to a problem.  We want to limit talk about mods to the mod board and try not to suggest their use where it's not appropriate.  In this situation, it has already been stated that Wai uses no custom content at all and is prepared to start with a new Sim.  I don't think mods are the answer here.

Sorry, it's the computer programmer in me that always wants to be able to fix the bugs in the game. If the sim was crashing CAS, then she was probably beyond fixing anyway, and I didn't catch that before I posted. Hopefully Wai's new game won't have the same issue!

Sadly, although my new sim was fine at first, this one has also decided that no clothes is Ok!  In addition, her guitar now spins on the end of her arm, very odd.

The only thing I ever download are official updates, and this started after the last update, is it possible that the update has in some way corrupted my game files?  Could something else, unofficial,  have been downloaded, sort of trojan like, with the official update?  Has anyone else had similar problems?  I don't know whether to completely reinstall my game, do a factory reset, or just give up on The Sims!

Try factory reset first, and if that doesn't work, try reinstalling game as it is described in technical board. I haven't heard of that happening to uncontrolable Sims before, and only once had my own Sim naked and uncenzured -  it was a ghost hunter, and it changed back to normal after first change of clothes. 
It is not quite possible you got unofficial update from official site, but it wouldn't be the first patch that corrupted game. It is strange that you have problems with new games too. What neighborhood you play in? Hope you get it solved out soon.

I would suggest clearing out your cache files.  Sounds to me like they've got messed up.

Many thanks to everyone, I've done a factory reset, and so far, everything seems fine.

I know the reset instructions say that your saved files can be copied into the newly cleaned game, but, I didn't feel confident enough to copy them over in case they carried the curuption with them, so, it's a totally fresh start for me.  Sob, I had a couple of really nice properties there, but, I guess I can recreate them.

Update: Now I am totally perplexed.

I have done a factory reset, I have kept nothing from my previous games.  Every house, sim, walpaper etc. I created is gone.  I have never downloaded anything, but if something got there by accident, it is gone.  The only saved game I have is the one I started after the reset.  I have also run CCleaner and a full virus check.  But, I still have the problems.  I really don't know what to do now.
