Patch 1.36
« on: July 09, 2012, 01:06:44 PM »
I haven't seen a topic about it yet. Just letting everyone know that patch 1.36 is now up!

These are the fixes:

Showtime:
- Fixed a crash when Data Execution Prevention is turned on.
- Collections are now available.
- Sims no longer receive a green tint while in CAS.
- Relationships will not be negatively impacted when not responding to crowd requests while performing on stage.
- Showtime Performance Venues will be accessible as Late Night bars.
- Wallvuu XXXXL Television Set will now play appropriate FX.
- Improved online stability with SimPort and Achievements.
- Showtime Venues can now receive gigs when the appropriate stage objects have been placed.
- Improved game stability.

Late Night:

- Late Night Venues can now receive gigs when the appropriate stage objects have been placed.

General Updates:

- Dynamic Challenges no longer appear in the launcher.

Store Updates:

- Added support for In Game Featured Store Set purchases.
- BahHaus Fence will now install properly.
- Improved stability in the Launcher after installing bundled objects.
- Flute Forward downloadable CAS item bug fix to prevent disappearing leg.
- Performance enhancements for Featured Store Items in Buy Catalog.

Remember to update your mods! I thought it was just a store update, so I clicked yes to install without waiting to update my mods. ::) Overwatch should be okay but I also have a core mod (ErrorTrap), so I'm temporarily uninstalling it so I can play until it's updated!

I'll post if I bump into any new bugs. The patch seemed to install fine for me, though.. It just took it's normal ten minutes as well. :)

I don't know about anyone else but this excites me.  I haven't been encouraged to update yet so I wonder if it's completely out.  It should be with Diesel coming out soon but you never know.

Twallan is one of the best modders when it comes to updates so I'm sure they'll be available very soon.

...so I wasn't hallucinating that... it drove me buggy when I was setting up Aidan Tanner for my dynasty restart, because his skin tone just looked off somehow.

Overwatch should be okay

Personally, I have no idea what code was changed in this Patch until I check tonight.

It is probably best to assume the worst and remove all your mods until they are verified by their creator.

Good idea. :) I haven't started up the game yet, but I'll remove Overwatch as well right now before I begin playing.

I updated my game with the new patch and have had nothing but crashes. I was working in the Building Contest and it crashed four times within an hour and of course this kept happening just before I would have a chance to do a save. I really hope it fixes itself. I'm just pulling my hair out.  :(

I've been playing for a few hours. Zero crashes, but my game has suddenly became rather freezy. This only happened in my Dreamer file, but I did play them for the longest. It's the largest file I have, but the Endalausts aren't far behind in size and yet the weren't anywhere near as freezy. It also appears that teaching teens to drive may be bugged, as Lori couldn't for the life of her teach Benson to drive without them being teleported back to their home after a few seconds of teaching. I restarted the game and it seemed okay but then, after a longer period of time, the same happened. ::)

I haven't found anything else. Just beware that games may get freezy and according to the above post, it looks like crashes are back. Ironic considering one of the fixes! Like I said though, I haven't had any - Just the frequent freezes. I miss my mods already! :P

EDIT: Did anyone have a pregnant sim before patching? In one of my files, I had my pregnant sim eat five watermelons for a girl, four of them pre-patch and then one just now after the patch - Five watermelons are supposed to make it so there is 100% chance of having a girl, and yet she had a boy! Could patching have somehow "erased" the watermelons she ate? I wasn't overly bothered, because there was going to be another child anyway, but it was a bit inconvenient considering my naming theme and some other stuff I had planned!

I know people have said something about coding saying you only need 5 but I never do less than 10 of each as it's been said a lot.   And that is all I let them eat to the point of every couple of hours stuffing 3 down.  Yes she gets the stuffed moodlet but if she downs 30 apples, I know I'm not getting a boy.

As for the patch, I still haven't been prompted to do it and since I don't think I'm going to get much playtime in today or tomorrow, I may wait to even try to do it since the crashes and freezes are happening for people.

Yea, I went for 5 because of what Seabody said about the coding on Pam's Mixed Gender Twins thread. Ah well, I guess the game was just determined that she have a boy. :P Picked a pretty cool name for him anyway. ('Tis for one of my stories. ;))

Has anyone tried using the "Featured Sets" facility? I tried using it but when I select an item it won't release and be placed on the lot? I just made my own collection folders which this helped with dramatically but wondered if anyone else was having this trouble?

Doesn't that just feature store content that you don't have and therefore can't place? That new feature really annoys me, to be honest. :P

The "Featured Sets" thing is working for me, and I personally find it pretty great. Sure makes it easier to make a cohesive room without having to scroll through a whole bunch of other items. However, I can find at least two sets I own that are not in the list, although the separate pieces can be found in their respective categories. I wonder if it's just meant to feature some of the store sets, but then it doesn't make much sense that it features all ten of my livingroom sets and only two out of three for the bathroom...

According to this article, park gigs can now also be at Graveyards, Fishing Spots and Beaches, Coffeehouse gigs can now also be at Pools, Gyms and Libraries and Dive Bars, Hangouts and Dance Clubs can be Live Show Venues and Art Galleries, Lounges and Horse Ranches can be Private Shows Venues. Could be helpful when converting towns to be compatible with Showtime if there's no space for new lots.

That is definitely good news. I had revamped Bridgeport for Showtime; now I'll have to do it again and update some spots for gigs.

Do you mean Watermelons? ;)

@Fez, I'll check that coding again when I patch up.
