Disclaimer: The wishing well has not been used it was just a nice backdrop to take pictures! This is an official DecaDynasty.
I stilll have shivers going down my spine right now. I had to get out of the house for a moment. I decided to head to the Botanical Gardens Park. If you ever visit Lucky Palms, then be sure to drop by this park. It's full of local plantlife with a fountain running down the center in the shape of a cactus. It's actually quite spectacular. One day when I think about it, I'll remember to take a picture to paint later. At the top of the cactus was another local treasure - The Wishing Well.
Like I said before, I've never been one to believe in any of the mystical things around us but I was certainly feeling different today. I moved over towards the Wishing Well and a small part of me could feel that it was something special just like everyone else who lived here. I fished a coin out of my pocket and tossed it into the well. Normally when I was out in the world, I wouldn't be able to stand it. The need to get inside would overcome everything else but not today. Today I asked the wishing well to send me a sign. I still wanted to marry the woman I love but I was going to prove to fate that it was wrong and that I would get my happily ever after no matter what it said. I would grow old with my wife and have lots of children.
Enter Darleen - stage left. Darleen and I had met at the local college where she was taking an art that I had been giving. By the end of the third & final session, she finally worked up the nerve to speak to me. It was like magic how we had connected on several subjects. I could tell she had a crush on me when we had been in class.
Seeing her here now had to be the sign that I had asked for. She was the woman from the future I didn't want to come true. She was also the only woman I would ever have a future with. I knew the moment I had seen her before and I knew that again now.
Despite being outdoors, I was having a good time as we stroke up a conversation. The sparks were definitely flying between us in the heat of the day. I thought we both could feel them but sometimes it's hard to say with the other person. I was glad when she didn't turn away when I made my move. We were both testing the waters with that contact, I think.
The waters were warm! I knew she agreed when she accepted the ring I presented. I'm not sure how I got the ring in my pocket and I bet it had something to do with the wishing well nearby. Once I saw her face though, I knew it had been the right move to make.
She also accepted my invitation to move in on one condition. My Darleen was very close to her parents and she wanted us to ask permission from them to make our next move. I haven't met her parents yet but I know who they are. I only hope that they like me as much as their daughter.
