Skill Opportunities and Self-Employment Promotions
« on: June 04, 2010, 11:58:30 PM »
I just discovered an unfortunate reality — it would appear that any money earned from a skill opportunity does not count towards money needed for Self-Employment promotions. I received the Painting the City Opportunity, it's one of the most profitable in the entire game if you turn in 15 large paintings, plus have the Opportunistic reward. My Sim netted over 200k Simoleans! But, not a dime went towards his Painting career advancement.  >:(

Speaking of Painting. Are the painting and guitar playing exploits still active?

Haven't had the chance to check guitar yet, but the painting one seems fixed. My da Vinci guy has canceled his own own painting action several times to go to the bathroom or whatever, and when he went back to the canvas, the painting did not automatically jump to the next level of "completeness."

I noticed the same thing, that any painting or sculpture for an oppurtunity did not count towards the money earned for your next promotions and that the painting bug seems to have been fixed.

Hahaha, totally true in my opinion. :) Pretty handy that some guys here are so specialized in different parts of the game. It is more easy this way to know who you need to ask which question.
