Puddles Keep Reappearing!

In my DecaDynasty house, I have a sim that is specializing in handiness.  I put some broken plumbing items in the family inventory while he was a child so he would have something to repair when he got bigger.  As a teen, I replaced a shower & tub that were both broken.  He repaired them, and another sim mopped up the puddles.  Now I can't get rid of the puddles!

Every time the maid or someone else mops them up, they stay gone for less than half a sim day and then come back, always in the same place.  I've tried selling the repaired shower & replacing it with a new one, but the puddles still come back.  Has this ever happened to anyone?  Is there any way to fix this without breaking the DecaDynasty rules or losing saved progress?

I've never had that problem, but I did have a problem once where a pizza box was put on a counter and then couldn't be moved. It kept saying the object was currently in use but it wasn't in fact. It did get gross and my Sims kept getting negative moodlets. Not to mention it was an eye sore. I got fed up so i sold the house and moved. After about one sim day I was curious as to if the pizza box was still there so I zoomed in on it using the map and such and when I looked through a window, it was gone! I moved back in and all was fine and dandy. But the furniture from both houses ended up in my Family Inventory from the moves, so I sold it all and got like 130,000 Simoleons. So yeah ANYway try that. Yeah..

It sounds like maybe it got glitched when you put in broken plumbing.  You can't really take the advice of moving to another house because it's a DecaDynasty.  I can only think of one thing that might help and that is to use Edit Town to evict your family, then put them immediately right back into that same house.  You have to go back to the game set up and choose a household to get it back active.  This is ok for the DecaDynasty rules because you're experiencing a technical glitch.  Remember that you'll loose all of the current wishes of the household if you do this.  Other than this, you'll probably just have to endure it until it's time for the heir to move.
