I hear a melody at 1am, anyone know why?

First off - thank you for this wonderful site and forum - I often find answers and inspiration here.

Now for the topic. Since I've updated my game I've begun to hear a nice little melody at 1am. It's the melody thats played when a sim gets a raise or promotion, or if they win an event in town. A happy little melody. But for no apparant reason.

Would anyone know the reason for this sound? If it's bugged - how to fix it?

I have no answer, but I have heard the sound in my game too. I couldn't find any reason the sound was there .

Do you have the Pets expansion pack? Because it sounds like the ice-cream van to me - the ice-cream van always seems to park outside my Sim's houses at about 1am.

I've heard the same sound, and I only noticed it after Pets. I think it's probably the Ice Cream Van.

I've heard it, too. A lot. It's like the one that's played when you get one of the professions from Ambitions. I just ignore it.

There is a bug since the Showtime patch that sometimes makes random noises happen for no reason at all.   I get the consignment sale sound at all hours of the night sometimes to.  I don't think there is really a fix as it seems to come and go for me.  It will probably go away for you as well if this is the same thing.

I've been hearing the Ambitions promotion noise every night ever since I installed Showtime. It's quite annoying.

I've been getting random sounds too.
Mostly I ignore them but then this depressing bit plays and then I wonder who died or something.

I'm in the random noises club too.  But not just at 1 am, so maybe the original poster has something else going on?

I hear a random tune at 12.59 every single sim night, in every single one of my files. It's driving me slowly insane!

Hmmm... If you've got mods installed ?? Like OverWatch, it chimes at anywhere between 12:30-1:30am each night. It does that to tell you it's cleaned up abandoned things in the game. - As far as I can tell anyway.

I don't know if that's the cause of the sounds in your game, or not, it's just a possibility. There's also the ice cream truck (like someone mentioned before) that likes to follow your Sim family around. Ack!! That thing gives me the creebie-jeebies!!  Doesn't the Ice cream man ever sleep?! *Snicker*

If you have storyprogression from Twallans, when that sound happens, I have found it means that a sim in town, has gotten a promotion from their profession.  I wonder if maybe it is the same without the mod?

I like the ice cream truck! Anyways, my first guess was actually a mod, because I have a few of Twallans mods myself, and have gotten that at random. Usually that will happen if a Sim out of your control gets a new job, or learns a new skill.

I can't speak for the others who have this issue, but I have no mods yet I still hear the sound every single sim night.

I highly doubt it is to do with mods. I have Errortrap and Overwatch and have never heard these strange sounds everyone talks about. Do you have Showtime? I've been noticing it's the people with this EP that speak about strange sounds?

I have Overwatch and I can safely say I've never heard those sounds.
