Eco friendly sims

Yay, I got Ambitions earlier than I expected. Have only been playing a for a short time, but so far I like it. I decided to play an eco friendly sim and some of the moodlets are cool. I had to buy her a bicycle because she got a negative moodlet for wasting natural resources when she rode in a taxi. 
But I love some of the positive ones.. saving the environment (from riding her bike), saving water (she takes short showers), replenishing the earth (from gardening). She also eats organic waffles and I put a solar panel on the block to reduce bills.
One thing that did confuse me was when I bought her a washing machine and clothes line, she threw a want for a dryer - not very eco friendly.

Yes, I like the eco-friendly sims too, although buying them an expensive washer was a slight downside, the free good moodlets were fun. Oh, and getting around town slowly on a bike, that was troublesome too at times. I got the dryer moodlet as well, I think its just a "catch all", like when I own the best computer and I get a moodlet that says "buy a computer".

But for my stay at home characters, eco-friendly will definitely be the way to go. Of course, they could have a rabbit hole career, too, and just car pool to work and home, and that would work fine. Overall, I think it is much more fun then "daredevil", and about on par with "evil".

I have an Eco-friendly robot that rides her motorbike around town and she does not get negative moodlets from riding it and it goes much faster then a bike.

What about that little eco friendly car they had recently?  The Twizzy or something.  I wonder if they would get a positive moodlet from driving it.

Did they include any Eco Friendly materials? To make Eco Houses or Environments! They should have added composts too if they havn't.

The negative moodlet in the taxi was something to do with being on her own. I guess that's why wildred's robot doesn't get one for the motorbike. I've downloaded the new car, but my sim doesn't have 5,000 to buy one. I might have her buy one when she can afford it, but I might leave it for a different eco friendly sim to try as Jewel Moonsong is something of a hippy, artistic and grows her own vegies and owning a car probably isn't something she would do.. she seems happy with her push bike.
Oh, she got another good moodlet for not using electricity when she hung the clothes on the line. Gotta love this trait.

Not sure about materials, but there is a recycle bin now but still no compost bin although she hasn't filled the recycle bin yet so I don't know what she will do with the contents once it is full.

I have the Eco Twizzy in game and haven't tried it with my eco freindly sims yet. You would think it would give them a positive moodlet if they drive it. I have two hippy chick sisters who are eco friendly vegetarians and I'll give one of them the Twizzy and see if  she gets a positive moodlet from driving it. Interesting thought, Pam, that hadn't occurred to me.

I have a gardener who is also eco-friendly and she disposes of dead plants in the recycle bin and gets a good moodlet from "composting."  Too bad we can't use the compost to fertilize like we did in the sims 2.

I bought the Prius for my eco-friendly sims and they still got the negative moodlet with it, unless they ride with someone else and then they get the positive 'carpooling' moodlet.  I haven't tried the motorcycle yet, great idea though, I'll do that next!

There is a big recycle bin that you can put out on the street next to the trash can.  That's how they empty the small one in the house.  I'm wondering if I can just get rid of my regular trash can or if they still need it for something?

I also noticed that they get a "saving water" moodlet for using the more expensive washing machine.

According to my strategy guide, a bike is the best option for eco friendly sims. I haven't tried it yet.

There is a big recycle bin that you can put out on the street next to the trash can.  That's how they empty the small one in the house.  I'm wondering if I can just get rid of my regular trash can or if they still need it for something?

I didn't buy the small recycle bin, or even a small regular bin. She just has the large recycle bin and regular garbage can outside. I'm not sure of getting rid of the garbage can, is it the bin that triggers the recycle option on rubbish or is it the eco friendly trait?

Well my sim is quite a well known artist now and should travel in a bit more style than on a push bike, so she lashed out and bought a Twizzy (the new zero emissions car) and apparently owning it will reduce her bills by 0.05% BUT even though it is a zero emission car and only has one seat, she gets a negative moodlet for wasting resources by driving alone   Looks like she might have to either go back to the pushbike or get the motorbike.

That's so strange. Someone else mentioned that their eco friendly sim didn't get a positive mooodlet for driving a Prius. You would *think* they would get something from driving an eco friendly car.

I was just about to type that! My farmy eco sims are just to poor to actually buy one, but I am very curious about how they will react on it. It was speed 4 I believe, so it is double the speed of the bike.
