Building Contests 2012-Long, July-August: Mr. Most Desirable … Agent?

You must read the Rules and Instructions Thread first, if you haven't already. Updates have been made.

Your Task:
This contest will involve landscaping, tomb building, and optional interior renovation for Christopher Steel. It will be completed in teams of 2 or 3 depending on the number of interested builders. If you wish to participate you must sign up by 11:59pm your local time, Saturday, June 30, 2012. To sign up, please PM samoht04 and Lilygirl or post in this thread, tell us if you consider yourself a beginner or advanced builder, and provide a list of the EPs and SPs you play with (you do not need to have WA to participate). Teams will be randomly picked combining beginner and advanced builders for maximum fairness.

It sounds really interesting Tom and Lily!  I would like to join, and although I know many of you consider me an experienced builder, I have to say it isn't so.  There are so many things I can't do that could be a serious handicap.  For instance, can't do tomb building, can't do curved ceilings, can't do modern or gothic or fantasy or those extra half height things to make buildings taller, (can't even remember the name of it!).  I CAN do decent traditional and I think I'm very, very good at landscaping.  I find it difficult to work with a lot of color and tend to be monochromatic or use only three colors, (unlike Agneza who is a WIZ with color and design!), but I think I do a decent job when I do those three colors or shade blends, and I certainly don't have the fabulous imaginative building skills of Ausette, (Llama house and many more!).  So, there's my qualifications or lack thereof.

I'm in, although I'm not sure if I should be classed as beginner or advanced either.  I'm happy with whatever you decide samoht and lilygirl. 

I'm not good at tombs but I like landscaping.

I actually fancy trying this, and I'm definitely a beginner. Pre-beginner if there was such a category.

I have the following: WA, HELS, Ambitions, FLS, LN, OLS, Generations, TLS and Pets. I also will have everything else for my birthday which is during the contest in mid-August but that's what I'll have when the contest first begins.

Just a reminder to all interested builders: you need to sign up for this one and you must do so by the end of Saturday. So far we have enough people for about 3-4 teams so please join in.

You do not need to own WA EP to participate, and an interior renovation of Chris' house is also an option.

Advanced. Anyone with as many wins as you have should definitely be Advanced. If you aren't comfortable with that though then you can of course be a Beginner. We're mainly using these two Tags as a way to pair a more Confident Builder who may know more tricks with someone who isn't as Confident and still learning the tricks.

Edit:  I won't be able to enter this contest after all. I just booked flights and will be away form August 22 to August 29. I thought the original plans were for the end of August but there was a change of plans as it fell on a very busy long weekend holiday.

I'll be in whatever category is convenient! So advanced is fine with me.  I'd imagine if you end up with like 8 beginners and 6 advanced it would be good to put the maybe 'inbetween' people like me in the advanced group.

Sorry, I couldn't resist that!  I love the idea of doing renos for our friends in Sunset Valley.

If you could use another beginner, I'm here.  Like Fez, I really consider myself more of a pre-beginner at best.  I have all the EPs and SPs except Late Night and the Katy Perry stuff.

Count me in. I was concerned about it being a team thing brecause I was worried that if I said yes and then decided it wasn't for me, I'd be letting the team down. But I should be fine to do it. I have nothing on the books in the near future, so there should be nothing to hold me back 
Guess I would be an advanced builder (but a lousy decorator lol) and I have all EP's and SP's (but probably won't be getting Deisel straight up when it comes out)

Your Task:
In Sunset Valley lives a man well-known to the members of Carl and Pam’s Sims 3 Forum: Mr. Most Desirable Dynasty Spouse, AKA Christopher Steel. New to town, Chris must settle in and become a positive citizen, friend, and neighbor, all without giving up his biggest secret! To curious passers-by, Chris explains the major landscaping remodel and interior renovation as a chance to create a pond for fishing and showcase the small blue Victorian, but it’s all a cover for the intricate secret basement being built as his home office and meeting place for his secret agent co-workers.

Your task, as a team, is to (1) landscape Chris’ home lot without changing the exterior of the house in any way, and (2) create a basement office and meeting space with a hidden access staircase outside the house (can’t have secret agents coming to the front door at all hours of the day and night!) – how you hide the staircase is up to you. You may also renovate the interior of Chris’ house if you want to. You may designate tasks between team members as you see fit just remember those that don’t have WA will need to complete their tasks first so that WA buydebug tomb pieces can be used, if desired, without being replaced.

Specifications:

• Minimum Number of Bed Spaces: 2 (evict Chris and build from Edit Town)
• Budget: add up to $100,000 to the lot value
• Lot Size: work on Chris’ original lot
• Other: Landscaping – pond, hidden access to the basement. Basement – home office space, meeting room, bathroom.

Optional Specifications:

• Use WA tomb markers to create a “tomb” for down-loaders to explore.
• Renovation of the house interior.

Sorry to be annoying but one more question, you said we can't change the outside walls, does that include that little raised patio area round the back?
