Sorry I'm late to the game, Plumbob95.

What you're experiencing is a known (and very annoying) bug in World Adventures.  There's no way to actually fix the bug.  The game does make a backup copy of the last save, but if that save was during the vacation, it will probably get the bug again.  It's worth a try, though, if you haven't already.  Click here for instructions.  Unfortunately, if the backup copy does the same thing, you're pretty much out of luck.

The best way to keep this from ruining your game in the future is to make multiple copies of your game when you save it.  To do this, you use the Save As function and give it a name that's slightly different than the original name.  For example, I name my files "Dreamweaver DecaDynasty 1.0" then Dreamweaver DecaDynasty 1.1" and so on.  I normally keep about 4 copies of the game like that.  If anything goes wrong, you can go back to a previous save and play it again.  Also, be sure to always save before your Sims leave for vacation.  It's a great help when this travel bug strikes.

Hi Pam thanks for the reply.

I tried the whole backup file thing and it didn't really work, but some other sim user told me to go into the backup file (that is now my main file) and delete the file that says travelDB.package. as it was a cache, and that I need to delete other caches'. I'm not really sure what that means or if I'm doing something wrong? This is all very confusing as I'm not good with this kind of thing. Thanks for the help anyway :)

Thanks loveSims, the link you have posted helped with the speed of my game, it is much faster now. Unfortunately, it didn't help me with my original problem as to a travel bug. Are there any other caches' that I need to delete that you know of, or is there any other way to fix this problem? Thanks for all your help, I think I am slowly getting there! :D

Erm that link you posted said to delete the DCbackup, so i did but they are still in the recycle bin, would I need to fully delete them? I also deleted the simsCompositorcache and the compositorCache but they come back once you re-load your game I think, so would i just need to delete all the files in the folder that says 'cache' on it?

Look in your saves folder if there is any bad sims3. For example sunset valley sims3 bad. You must delete it.

I couldn't find any with 'bad' on them but I came across a few files that said 'legacy' at the end. I really don't know what's going on haha.
