My Games lags constant

My game freezes and lags constant. Every 5 minutes. I have all add ones.

I do have the whole storyline mod and master controller of Nraas

My computer specs are:

Intelcore i7 -3770
Ati 7850 2gb
and 8gb memory.

So I really doubt it's my computer who can't handle the sims

Hi,I don't really have much experience in this, but my game lags and freezes a lot too. In fact I remember one time the game froze up and I went without Sims for 3 months, which made me very sad. Anyway they told me to update my drivers. Not saying it's your drivers though. Anyway you could try and call EA and see if they could maybe help. Sorry if this didn't help much. I'm still trying to figure out why mine is lagging. Also when you said add ons, what do you mean? Do you mean you have mods because I have seen on some sites say the more mods you put on the game the more it will lag and freeze. Anyway if this doesn't help then I'm sorry, but at least I tried.

If you are not judgemental about mods, I believe Twallans Errortrap and Overwatch should work.

What's your processor? Have you defragged your computer lately, and do you clear the caches?

I wouldn't really say non-mod users are "judgmental". I also wouldn't really instantly jump to mods, though I use both of those, if the problem can be fixed without mods then it makes sense to go for that solution first.

I have error trap. But should i get overwatch too?

Edit. I've installed my Sims on a ssd drive so I'm not suppose to defrag. I have an intel i7 3770. So the newst i7 processor

I would defiantly use Overwatch, since it gets rid of all the excess cars, that Sims get which naturally slows down peoples' games. No need to uninstall error trap if you decide to go with overwatch! Are you on a laptop, or desktop? Sometimes, laptops can overheat more easily, even with simple tasks like Facebook, or Twitter.

Well, technically, even a responsible mod user (even the creator of that specific mod), has to have some sort of responsible judgement. I mean, you have to make sure the mod is compatible with the base game patch, for one, and two, be sure the mod isn't conflicting with any other mod you download. Also, putting a mod, that will add mature content and functions in the mix isn't really a smart move when young children will be playing your modified TS3 game.

My desktop is 3 weeks old With a great gfx card. It's really not my computer. I play Max Payne on highest settings.

Sims 3 tends to have it's bugs and issues, I noticed, even on the nicest gaming computers. 

In the meantime, I think you should avoid high amounts of CC if possible, not just third party, but store too. Even EA's CC can be faulty sometimes. Third party content has high polygons, which can take up a lot of resources with your game.

Im having the same problem as you, every 5 ingame minutes it freezes for a couple of seconds. the Animations like Z's and smoke still keep going though. And my computer is very powerful

Open the cheat console in game and type "fps on" it will display your fps. if its too high 150+ it'll go slow/freeze, if its 60+ anyway, you should install fps limiter or your graphics card will be eaten.

I already have that and I took all CC out and it still lags like mental after a few sims days. I already reset my world after every day but i don't have a clue what to do more

We have a few topics on the Technical Help board that have suggestions to reduce lag.  They are all stickied.

And i tried everything thats the whole problem. I just think I'm going to give up on the Sims. I bought this computer so I finally could play it properly and it still doesn't work.

Yeah i even formatted my computer again last weekend. Now days when a new part comes out and i want to install it i dont even bother to uninstall the whole serie i just format my computer.

But when I do reset world and reset my whole household every day the game is kinda playable but that's not how it should be in my eyes
