Displaying text upon room entry
« on: June 13, 2012, 07:01:03 PM »
In some tombs when you enter a room, for example The Tomb of Burning Sands, a message is displayed when you enter a room. Is there a way you can do that in custom - made tombs?

I'm pretty sure it isn't possible, but you can add description plaques with short messages on them.

What does trigger TNS text do?

...No idea. I'll see if I can look something up for you...

Well, look at that. Trigger TNS "Brings up a text entry box, used to display a message that appears on the top right of the screen when the trigger is activated, such as "You gained entry into the tomb.". I don't know how to set triggers, but you were right.  :)

Maybe you could place the the hidden floor panel in front of the door so when you enter it pops up?

Thanks for you suggestion, Swirl-Girl, but doors can be set to set a trigger when they are walked through

At Ausette,  I just realized I never thanked you.  Thanks!

hmmm, while searching for a way to re-hide a room I found this...

if you have a tomb room marker in the room (while in build/buy mode Control-Shift-Click on it and click "Add the ability to add triggers and activated behaviors"

Then Control-Shift-Click on it again and click "Activated Behaviors" then click "Unfog room..." then click "Set TNS on Activation..." then a window called "Title text" appears with an empty text field called "Promt Text".

That might be what you're looking for but you might then have to have the unfogging of the room triggered by a floor switch or something rather than letting it happen automatically when you enter the room since it's an activated behavior.
